Changes list:
  • Broodling changed to Scourge.
  • Lings spawn probability increased from 1/64 to 5/256.
  • Attempted to fix "Extractor Unplaceable" error when making Machine Shops. Made it better, but haven't fully fixed the issue.

an idea for forcing the thing to act...

You could implement an overly sensative scanner... The scanner scans occasionaly (say, a set # of times per game), and always picks up the-thing, as well most of the other players; the player(s) not scanned is/are essentially made a target(s). If the thing does not get them he'll have a harder game ahead of him...

Also makes the not-scanned player paranoid, adding dimension to the game

the scanner identifies (pings? temporarily reveals?) the-thing and a bunch of other players, but one or two of the true anti-viral guys are not identified

So now everyone knows the person not scanned, is not the thing

Okay, so you want to reveal who is NOT the thing every x minutes, right? I was thinking of this as an option... As well as revealing different players for different people. For example in a game of 4 players (Red, Blue, Teal and Purple) Red is told Teal is NOT the thing, Blue is told Red is NOT the thing, and teal is told Blue is NOT the thing. It may work... However I didn't like something about this, can't tell what for sure now, but something was wrong when I thought about it. I think it seemed for me too easy to discover who is the thing after this. But taking the overall level of an average player I may reconsider this idea. It's still something a bit more complex than a simple timer but not too complex as the other ideas.

New version: ALPHA10 (SMALL CHANGE).
Changes list:
  • Changed Zerg Scourge to the unit sprite of Infested Duran. Renamed Hydralisk and Infested Duran.
  • Increased resources and leaderboard points charging speed from one per 7 cycles to one per 6 cycles.
  • Increased healing delay from once per 150 cycles to once per 180 cycles.
