If any of you remember, someone made a trigger viewing application that doesn't actually unlock a map but allows you to view the triggers. I have it, and I'm sure someone can find it on google somewhere.
So pmwolff, try and find Trigger Viewer or TriggerViewer2 by MindArchon(U).

Tada.

(For future reference, the idea behind locking topics is not to open new topics to reply to them.)

Or you can just get OS Map from Maplantis, then unlock your map! Now you can tell what locations those triggers you are looking at refer to!

OSMAP = The future

Why? Its not that I dont support Protection, its the fact that I support both which means I support none.
the + - gets you an = does it not?

Trigger Viewer was terrible for me, could not learn a thing from it.
OSMAP lets you view triggers, then you can lock it up again with say the Ultimate Protector or something

Or just save it with a different filename when you unlock it. And you know, not create another version to download?

Must we always spam about osmap when it comes to viewing triggers?

Do it the hard way, you learn better from it. Watch the way the trigger runs, view it carefully, and do it yourself without looking at the triggers.

You learn it 10 times better than you would have unprotecting it.

How do you learn it better without any of the information you need? If I looked at a burrowed unit detection system with Trigger Viewer, I would never be able to figure it out, since I have no way of knowing that I need 1x1 pixel location. I don't see how simply looking at the triggers could ever help you learn better than being able to see the big picture.

i agree with falkoner. i tried using trigger viewers but you know, being able to see the map makes it so much easier. what OSMAP needs is though, is a way that you cant edit or save the map, just view it, but all of it.

We live in a society.

That would be too little, too late. It's up to the user to use it responsibly and just not overwrite the map.

Sometimes looking at a maps triggers without seeing them can lead to craftier systems, without you even knowing.

I would have to agree with Dark on this one. I have seen some crafty systems by some other people. They all told me they got it off of other ideas.

And how does being able to see things other than just the triggers stop you from getting these ideas?

It places a barrier on creativity is how.

Dec 26 2007, 9:17 am Falkoner Post #14

And how does it place a barrier on it? I don't see how it changes anything, you just have the same thing and more.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Falk, ppl are lazy... When they got a complete system alreaady done they won't think of anything else that might be better but instead just use it.

When they don't see the great picture they HAVE to think on their own and might find interesting new ideas.

But ofc I agree with you Falk its usually better to see everything. If you are lazy, it's your own fault, not the fault of the method.

Hmm, I guess I see what you mean, my friend was making a map and he couldn't figure out how to make units use the carrier as a transport, so he copied a reaver transport from Laser Tag, of course, it was really buggy and I ended up remaking the entire system for him, but I see what you mean.
