I guess he's not really unknown but nobody seems to talk about him anymore is Moochfish, the creator of Altered Starcraft which was a HUGE map back in the day. He's made tons of other maps like Assassin Training, Sleeping Heroes RPG, and my personal favorite Keys of Enlightenment II rpg.

An excellent mapper but I think he's been inactive since the early 2000s'. However I still salute his mapping and you guys should give it a try if you can find his work!

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.

This thread shouldn't be pinned because it doesn't help anyone. Nobody cares who made what. (If you say you do, then it's a lie)

I agree it shouldn't be pinned. But either way I think the map Rush by Tux was awesome!!

I order you to forgive yourself!

Killer_Ape (K_A) for all the zombie maps he made, they were the best I ever saw. He was always working on projects that became great.

Oh please, our names will be erased from history without any effort on anyone's part. The best we got was an indirect mention to one of our members (Heinermann). Blizz doesn't give two shits about what we do, or believe in giving us the tools we need to make great maps. All they care about is making money it seems. That isn't to say they aren't good at making good games, they are. But they're just like every other company, out there to make a profit. Not that I blame them for it, just sayin'.

What they don't seem to acknowledge realize is one of the reasons sc1 has lasted so long is because of us making interesting maps so that people keep playing. There are probably more UMS players than anything else. We're making maps because we want to. If you're out here making maps for fame and glory you're in the wrong place. You won't get any of that here.

Yes i realize maps and such things associated with map making is suppose to be fun but this was mainly to show the community the great maps that some of you might have missed not to popularize maps but to say that people should just makes map to be popular is not true but to make them so that someone can have as much fun as you did... the more you spread good maps the more people can have that same enjoyment...

uhm, pretty oldskool mappers who left SC like 5 years ago or something: WriZZ and Kimsan from europe (I know Kimsan was aka Kimsan(U) on east, no idea about WriZZ). and Oo.Rine.oO back on east was also very decent.
I think those guys all made mainly bound maps.

Incubus RPG is one of the best RPGs I've played. It's not FF at all? I uploaded it to the DLDB. It's by Maidenbreacher.

I second that. Tux is why I started mapping in the first place, also another reason I dont post much, if anything, everything fails in comparison :(

@StormTemplar Tuxedo Templar is quite known for being the best starcraft map makers and this about unknown map makers

I third that. Tuxedo-Templar deserves recognition not only for Rush, but as well for his early movie maps, Astrogears, Mafia, Galactic Gunnerz, which are only the ones that immediately come in my mind. I believe his good sense of humor and dedication to work deserve respect. I however consider his most important quality that he is not sticked to a single genre, but constantly searching for new ideas and solutions. All his works are very different from each other but still all resemble the top quality and the inimitable mastership of his their author! :D
