Okay, I've always wondered how you people manage to make such amazing art with your computers. I used to think that you just had superior programs to my paint, but then I got a hold of Photoshop CS3 Extended, and now I can do gradients!(oh joy!)

I'm wondering if anyone can point me to some good online tutorials so I can figure out how to use my program to its fullest extent.

Eeehhrrr... ya...
That really, really very much depends on what you want to do. Draw? Touch up a photo? Merge some pictures? Create an abstract? Pixel art? Animate something? Add effects, text?
There are generally many different ways to use each tool, thanks to the tool options and the various Photoshop plugins etc...
Mess around, read tutorials relating to what you want to do, ponder on it, all that.
I've seen people do horrible things in Photoshop, and I've seen people do wonderful things in MSPaint. It depends on how you use the tools you have, and what you're trying to do with them.

I want to at least get the basics, because in most of these tutorials, they tell me to use tools that I don't even know about.

Try the top one, a good one is the first in the basic section ( http://www.pegaweb.com/tutorials/beginners-guide-adobe-photoshop/ )

I'd say the best thing to do is probably just mess around and figure out what everything does. Just play around with the program and see what you can do, and try to aim for a specific thing. Sometimes you'll amaze yourself and make something pretty sweet you never really intended to do.

Having Photoshop and Knowing how to use photoshop are 2 VERY different things.

Photoshop is a LOT better than paint... -_- If you just play around with it and read a few tutorials, you should soon know what all the stuff does.
and haloman210, you should actually read the post before replying.

Well, lets see:

Eye drop Tool: Allows you to get any colors within a photo
"Big Square": Selection tool which allows you to cut/crop/etc.., so you can LAYER shit.

Sorry, but Photoshop is not anywhere near paint, and paint doesn't even have half the things that Photoshop has.
