Dungeon Master

Title says it all, really. I create mods with DatEdit, and when I try to run them Norton 360 claims that they're a massive security risk and deletes them. It gives absolutely no reason for deleting them. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I'm fucking pissed off about this. Fuck.

Also, I have to go right now so I don't have time to figure this out: I can't seem to make larva morph into larva. I'm guessing it's because they don't have an init animation or some bullshit like that but if someone could figure it out for me I'd appreciate it a lot.

No, but my friend's computer got totally raped by Norton after he deleted his collection of 1500 viruses, but left them in the Recycle Bin. (Viruses to infect others with, not viruses he was infected with.) Norton tends to... overreact.

My advice? Ditch Norton, get something better.

None.

Isn't Norton supposed to be really bad? I've heard that you'd be better off not having an antivirus program. :O

Norton is actually very powerful. The problem is, its unbearably powerful. It spends tons of resources on its "watchdog" tasks and it is very strict about programs that you run, and their access. In my opinion (I have had Norton for a year, just got rid of it) Norton is a boat anchor, and you are better off using something less severe. I mean, how often do you come into contact with malicious software? I have found that for me, its about 1/5000 browsed websites. I anticipate that any anti-virus will do that job. (Thats just me. If you are looking up CP on Russian websites or something, use norton.)

I'm only here because they patched SC1 and made it free.

I fixed this part. The other problem is still annoying though.

Ultraviolet -- Yeah, I suppose there's something to that

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
[2024-5-06. : 5:01 am]
Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Ultraviolet -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD

Vrael -- damn is that all EUD effects?
