Just curious, how many of you actually feel bad when you succeed at hurting someone's feelings online? Comments are not necessary.
Yeah, when I feel I've overstepped the mark.
None.
What are these "feelings" you speak of?
None.

No?
It actually makes me keep on going because of how pathetic they are for feeling down by
reading text written by some random guy they will probably NEVER meet.
It's their fault for having such low self-steem to break apart for something so meaningless like an internet bash.
fuck you all
On this subject, I see very little reason to differentiate between people on the internet and not.
None.

What if someone was depressed because they were fat and you called them fat. You would be reminding them of it. What then? Would the guy be pathetic for that?

If one's fat and one doesn't feel comfortable with such? Get off the internet, stop QQing and work out until you have a body you feel good with if you're really so insecure of yourself ;o
fuck you all

This.
I generally don't understand why people don't mind being asses just because they are far away from their counterpart.
That's like thinking it would be okay to rape woman when there's no police.
It's a question of conscience and morale.

This is really the reason I asked. I wanted to know why some people treat people differently online then they would in real life.

That's cool but I still think certain people should be able to feel bad about themselves, what they do about it is what really matters and would be the governing factor in letting me think about how much compassion I'm going to put forth towards this person.
I think you had a fat guy crying and complain to you about how he doesn't know how he go fat after he just had his fifth meal today.
All I'm saying is that if someone took the time to think about it, I think we could find an instance where being hurt would be justified and you couldn't just say "Stop QQ'ing and do something about it". Be it because they can't actually do anything about it or it's just accepted to let it happen/in today's world (i.e. Feeling bad when a family member has passed away)
S'all im sayin'

If it helps I am also as sarcastic, smart ass and lulzy in real life too as I am on the internet.
IRL, no one QQs as they do on the internet, at least no one I know, maybe it's because of what I study, almost everyone has that unexplicable arrogance because they're studying architecture
Plus, the dynamic of the career kinda got us used to harsh comments, we always criticize other people's project without worrying they'd feel bad and we all have the ability to tell when something is right and deal with it (solve the problem with the project) or ignore it cause it's just a garbage flame. Used to teachers ripping of our work, destroying it flaming us really harsh questioning us, my point is I don't act differently just because I'm on the internet.

I don't hurt people over the internet. Nor do I verbally attack anyone in real life with serious intentions of hurting them. I prefer physical violence.
I voted 'no' because even if I do hurt someone, that was not my intention. And people shouldn't take t3h internetz too seriously.

Wut? That's even worse.
I'm actually very surprised and a bit disappointed... Haven't thought that of you, JaFF.
Relatively ancient and inactive
Note to self: Avoid JaFF. Contradictory.
Anyway, I sometimes feel bad, when I feel that the person in question didn't deserve it. Not very often.
None.
lol i am such a bitch online.
In RL though I am very nice ><

It's actually the opposite. Unfortunately explaining it would require too much time and revealing too much personal information. Besides, I haven't used it many years, because people are generally nice to me.

Are you referring to the fact that damage done to psyche can be much harder to heal that damage done to the body?
Yeah, I usually feel a pang of remorse if I think I've hurt someone online.
None.
