I loathe name changes. It's confusing as hell. I thought there was a way to see someone's previous names on this forum, but I'm not seeing it in their profiles. If such frivilous name-changing is permitted, it'd be nice if there was quick access to see all other aliases, such as a tooltip when you hover over their username.

We live in a society.

Devourer recently added that information to the admin tab of profiles. I think it should be publicly available in the Staredit.net (default) tab and we'll look into moving it soon.

It seems there are three factions in this:
1. The Lucky Renames; People who were lucky enough to have a name change that didn't dissapear and they used it.
2. The Haters; Those who are either too jealous of The Lucky Renames or lack the intelligence to remember the names (joke)
3. The Unlucky Unnamers; Those who SHOULD have or WISH they had a name change to change into.

Which are you?
I'm the third one

Are you sure about that?

I wanted to be Lady Gaga but I am afraid that even if I had 1 name change available, I would not be able to turn back to any of my names whenever I wanted to.

I want minerals back

This completely defeats the point of me changing my name to Heather Graham. I don't want to be known as the old me anymore. I've assumed a new identity, had a sex change, closed my old facebook, applied for a legal name change, destroyed my old photo albums, erased the contact list on my phone, married a Norwegian mountain climber, opened a new bank account, started ballet classes, and moved to Nebraska. Logging my name changes is a hate crime against transvestites everywhere.

No, it doesn't. If you do not want to be known as the old you anymore, then start a new account. All your old posts are associated to that account, and anyone who quoted you will have "Quote from Vrael", thereby defeating your quest of annonymity.

My Norweigan mountain climber husband Sven is going to come kick your ass for saying that.

My time as Zachary Taylor, the greatest president to die by eating milk and cherries, is lost :(. I also was saving up for that name color/bigger avatar rather than buying name changes during the minerals period. Unlike some people, I thought getting 12 signatures for -1 minerals was cheating.

A retort with no substance? I take it then that my logic is irrefutable.

Can anyone else understand this?

Double accounts are not allowed.
If there is a valid reason, you can make a special request to the administration. They can lock down your old account, keeping your active accounts to one.

Additional information: as it was added and the sqltable restrucuted recently it only displays the changes from... uhh.. around the first february. I'll make it public when moose approves it once again.

Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.

On a related note, why is there a fad fad now? The :hurr: fad, the moose fad, the female celebrity fad, the spam-topics fad... There have been a few fads in the past, but never this many or this widespread. This place is fucking turning into /b/.
