Sunken Defence XY Fast V.a

Very fast paced gameplay, not meant for hacks or those who play rigged sunken defence games. I gave the old XY a facelift and re-worked the terrain, along with the units and levels. Now has 35 levels, MANY MANY units to choose from which are all completely balanced. Enjoy this old classic as it has been given a new look.

Post any bugs or comments. Enjoy!

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

So you edited a map without asking the original creator?

Yup, I sure did. I gave him/her full credit for his/her ideas and the time/brainpower he put into his/her map though. As far as I'm concerned, this map was old and was a bit retro for todays society of UMS map players. So yes I technically made changes without asking, but it's the same thing as taking a quote from a book and citing it on a reference page. No harm done :/

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

I'd say a better analogy is adding a chapter to someone else's book and adding your name to it.

Unprotecting and editing another person's map is usually frowned upon here, but I'll keep this open in case anyone plays it and wants to discuss it.

Well, not to be rude, but the game is very old for one. Secondly, I've never really seen anyone play it (my version, the old, unmodified one is still played). Lastly, the map was not protected to being with (due to age). And no, it is not like adding another chapter to a book and added my name to it. I still consider it fully acredited to the original user. Yes, I changed his/her map around to my own liking, but only because I disagreed with what the user had previously done to it.

In my own opinion, I am changing the map around to fit my own visual appeal. I am not trying to steal others ideas, nor am I trying to boast that it was my creation.

I have not yet checked if the original users account even exists, and there is a high possibility that it does not (games age).

i think that's bananas. the map he was talking about coule be YEARS old....the guys email probably ISNT on it and his username probably is no longer him. so what are we to do then? What about open source? I mean...we aren't creating material that is slammed with copyrights and breaking ground. And honestly...its a defense map...like they all didn'tj ust copy each other/another game anyways =p. Lol we all use the same terrain and junk from those pallets. We don't quote the random people that wrote the wikis when we use something from it. I don't pray to the gods of scmdraft in a credits when i make a map with it.

and nooooow i get yelled at

Thanks very much Pears. That was a much needed explantion. I don't see what the fuss is about me making my own version and posting it. I gave credit where credit was do, and my map isn't even protected. It is as you said "open source". If someone made a modificiation version of my map, I would be very happy (as long as it didn't involve adding cheats) because it shows that the person was interesting in what I had done, but saw that it could use improvement. :D
