I followed the instructions on www.portforward.com and I came out with this, but I'm not sure if it's correct... people still say I have 6bar latency whenever I host games. I'm all nervous because I finally guessed the password (it was changed) for my router and I'm this close to being able to host games properly.
My router is an Actiontec MI-424-WR, with a Verizon logo stapled all over it's webpage.
*Note* If you need more info, Let me know.MAJOR EDITI can host games properly when I DO NOT LAUNCH with iccup/advloader. If I launch SC with any add-ons, then I cannot host games that people can join, unless they also have advloader. (still nobody can join with iccup)
I would like to know if theres any way to host properly with my advloader, or if that's just not possible.

Have you added starcraft and the correct ports to the list of exceptions on windows firewall? Have you got any other firewalls? Have you tried disabling the DMZ?
Red classic.

Yes I have added starcraft & the correct ports to the list of exceptions, no I do not have any other firewalls, and I do not know what a "DMZ" is.
None.

If you disable the DMZ for your router, it should allow SC and other blocked programs better access to the internet. It also theoretically makes your computer more vulnerable to hackers. It's up to you wether you disable it or not.
If you're far enough away from the US, you may just not be able to host, quite simply.

Yeah, distance might make you lag some (?), but it won't mean you can't host period.

I dunno why I can't host then...I've disabled DMZ, port forwarded, added firewall exceptions...maybe I should make SC use port 80.
