Hey guys, i've been making a D&D map and I don't know what kind of terrain to put... I mean, mountains, forests, swamps, all of those ? I'd just like to know what you guys think would have its place in a D&D map... I'm short on ideas and don't want it to end being random areas linked together.

DnD usually consists of many dungeons and cave-like areas, so your main focus should be on interior areas. Other than that, most people use forests for travelling from place to place, and as such, this should be your next focus.

But of course, the world is entirely up to the DM, so you can make as much of any kind of terrain as you please. It is your map after all.

Try finding Wilhelm's old indoor temple stuff, it would be good for cave's and such.

After a few minutes of looking around I couldn't find it. It used to be on the hall of fame along with Woodenfire's stuff, but now it's all shit

Terrain Brush Project This could have some nice doodads or blends for dungeons, and also look at the terrain wiki forum.

And paynes unfinished rpg has some nice cave interior blends that you could use. http://www.staredit.net/files/1407/

I don't know much about D&D but considering how it sounds i would make it have a dark sort of ambiance by putting lots of bones and things lying around and maybe have lots of bits of terrain that block vision so that players have to be more careful looking around corners.
