Changing transparancy color

I ripped a bunch of graphics from a game called FreeSpace 2. They look great in-game (unless your Polaris), but there's a problem. The graphics are very dark, and when I convert them to SC's palette, parts of them turn totally black. This is fine until one flies over something else, because parts of whatever it flew over show through due to the fact that black = transparent. So, is there any way to change the transparency color? <3 anyone who helps.

None.

PyMS and ProTRG developer

The newest versions of PyGRP and SFGRPConv both have the option to choose a different palette index for transparency.

Edit: Another option is just modifying your unit palette so index 0 is not black (or any color that might appear in your grp).

UndeadStar -- I wonder if that's what happened to me. A returned product (screen) was "officially lost" for a while before being found and refunded. Maybe it would have remained "lost" if I didn't communicate?
