Lynching Adds to Pool of Blood

Recent reports have filtered in that members of Gotham City have decided to take their plight into their own hands. Showing a blatant disregard for the idea of police protection, they instead held a brief conference before deciding for themselves who was guilty of last night's murders. Screaming for blood, the angry mob coalesced outside the home of Darkling.

Caring nothing for decorum, the mob smashed in his door and surrounded him in his living room. They picked him up and carried him outside, where one member of the mob withdrew a rope and strung up poor Darkling from a tree. Darkling hung there, intended as a ward against the mafia but ending up little more than a glaring example of the peril of vigilante justice.

Police Report They Are No Nearer to Catching Joker

In a press conference today, Gotham City Police detectives said that despite a massive effort, they are no closer to locating the mysterious “Joker” who interrupted last night's broadcast of “The Late Show”. Many believe that this strange anarchist may arise as an arch-nemesis to the bat-man, and await further details. Even so, with no leads to go on, the GCPD is somewhat overmatching in attempted to protect the entire city from the Joker's promise of two deaths tonight, seeing as nobody has yet killed Vrael.

“To be fair, we've had about half a day to track down this Joker character,” said Gotham Police Sgt. Matthew Lloyd. “A majority of our investigations take days, if not weeks, though we are throwing everything we have at stopping the Joker's planned violence.” Lately, it seems even the bat-man may not be enough to keep our city safe.
