I've heard 16bit, mono .wav file is the best. I've exported my .wav's in various formats:
I'm exporting the .wav file as a .AMC Waveform, PCM filter, 11,025khz, 16bit mono,
which gives me no luck, at least SCMDraft isn't allowing play-back.
I can export it as A/mu-Law Wave, DVI/IMA ADPC, Microsoft ADPC, Windows PCM, to name a few.
I've tried various combintions of each format with no luck.

-Finally posting this because noone in shout seems to know and I've googled/sen'd the hell outof the topic, everyone just says 16bit mono .wav.
-Thanks for reading.

EDIT:
Rockz, just noted Microsoft PCM 16bit works..... and I verified. However, my compressed .wav goes from200kb to 700kb (single voice-over), which is out of the question for my RPG.
Any other formats that SC accepts?

Windows PCM
This is the most basic sound format. The "true" wave format. No compressions.

And btw. searching for "wav format" in UMS Assistance gives you this topic

I use WAV (Microsoft 16 bit PCM) from audacity. What are you using to convert/edit?

It's a GOOD sign when your file size increased. That means you got rid of the compression and have it in a format that sc will accept (uncompressed wave is the only one). ;)

This is exactly why downloading maps with sounds is an issue. :P

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

16 bit sounds, 11025 Hz. That gives you 176400 bit - Hz, or 176400 bps or 176.4 kbps or 22 kB/s.

When compressing, you can typically expect the file to be lower than the 8 bit audio equivalent, so we'll round it out to about 40-50% of total size when compressed. That gives us pretty roughly ~10 kB/s.

If you want to "compress" it more, you can use 8000 Hz, which will turn out to be 16 kB/s, or 7-8 kB/s when compressed.

make sure you cut out ALL the dead noise, and try to make it as short as possible. 8kHz is pretty bad quality, so I don't recommend it.

FINALLY! Did some .wav testing based on you guys' advice...
To conclude... out of a handful of .wav formats or compressions that I've gone through, 2 worked.
.wav Formats:
(AMC Waveform, Filter: PCM) - as stated by rockz/nuderaider: 11,025kHz, 16bit mono (21kb/sec)
(Windows PCM) - no setting options given, 16bit mono.
BOTH Are similar quality.

NOTE: SCMDraft also has a low quality MPQ compressor to import through, this will also reduce file size.

.wav (AMC Waveform, Filter: PCM)
After Raw .wav: 8 Second .wav approx 770kb
After MPQ Compression: 8 Second .wav approx 200kb

.wav (Windows PCM) - no setting options given, 16bit mono.
After Raw,wavL 8 Second .wav approx 200kb
After MPQ Compression: 8 Second .wav approx 55kb

Thanks again guys! Please close topic at your own convenience.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
[12:51 am]
Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
