The gas expo and main looks tankable to me. It also looks quite hard to defend, nor does it look easy to retake.

The sword and the faith

The general idea is that the 3rd and main use the same turret line, with the min only turret line being close. I like the idea of a very close, almost shared defense like that. I'd like to keep it that way if possible. If you're talking about the main CC being tankable, I'm pretty sure it isn't, but the gas probably is. I could probably fix that on most of the positions.

I just tested it on single players, siege tanks are able to hit all the starting locations cc/nexus/hatchery.

Most P or Z players will mostlikely resort to cheese tactics in this map, or rushing to take advantage of the map first- before getting tanked.

Hah thanks.

For those wondering about the update to the map, depending on where it places in Broodwarmaps.net MOTM this month, I may or may not be finishing it up.

Very anti-terran-push in the middle though. All that unbuildable ground, no turrets, supply depots, photon canons, forward factories, ect. Maybe you should reduce the amount of gravel to open up strategies like these?

Negative. The map is not hard for T in any fashion except the design of the middle. Quite frankly, if I helped T out like that, the map would be come T>P.

If you don't leave photon cannon spots for P in the middle expoes, it would be so easy to rip P expoes apart for either T or Z. For T, a group of vultures- for Z, crackling commandos. Atleast room for 7~8 photon cannons help. Its a late game reference, and zerglings get so powerful lategame- a few photons can't really fare better than a few marines can.

It reminds me of python :)
Good work. If I were a perfectionist, I would say you shouldnt make the expansions tankable.
But then again, Im a protoss player, so granted.

I am not sure whether or not you have seen the professional map Outsider. That map has become exceptionally popular at all levels on iccup and the other big tournaments in Korea. People like the concept that your map has. However, there are some reasons why this wouldn't be played at good skill levels because of its unfairness.

1) People may not like 9 blocks in main. The reason why only a few maps have 9 blocks in main is because maps like Lost temple have barriers in the middle of the map which calls for less minerals.

2) The fact that you can harass your opponent's 2nd expansion if he spawns there (which is likely) with so many different types of units.

3) The fact you can harass your opponents main at your own 2nd expansion if he spawns there (which is likely).

I don't think the mass unbuildable terrain in the middle of the map is problematic. People have adapted to the professional map Luna just fine and it has nearly 50% win ratios on all match-ups. Also, mineral nats tend to be tucked into corners on professional maps.

As far as compliments go:
The map looks execptionally well decorated, you used the cool back-door expo which I think is very underused on new maps, and you made a map like Outsider which very many people like.

Uh, Luna had a ton of build space for their mineral nats. This maps used 1/8 of the map on decorations on the outer rim.

I haven't thought of it before, but a handful of tanks could go around the edge to bombard enemy base. Whatevers down the range would be in big trouble.
