I dont know whats wrong with Deathawk but Radeon is teh l0se.
no way! It's physically the same as an HD 2900 XT, except a lot cheaper. It overclocks very well, and all you need to do is flash it to an HD 2900 XT BIOS to add extra voltage to the core, making it an HD 2900 XT for 280~, basically.
but I have a feeling you wern't heing teh seri0us.

You make me jealous...I have worse like everything
. My graphics card in comparison came out of my ass.

8800 GTX still beats 2900 XT in like... everything.
*Edit* Except synthetic benchmarks like 3dMarks 06, which is actually misleading about real world performance comparatively to the 8800 GTX and GTS.

Whatever, my suggestion is stay one step behind cutting edge so you can play all new games but not have to pay so much for it.

I'm not recommending the HD 2900 pro/XT if you have the money for a GTX.
And I would hope the GTX beats a Pro/XT, considering the price difference.
I don't think flashing to XT even adds voltage, only changes to default clocks, since the Pro/XT volts are the same I think. The Pro has a better reference heatsink than the XT, too.

I'm looking forward to the product refresh supposedly coming in November. I suppose we'll just be seeing the 8800 GT replacing the 8800 GTS 320 Mb version and some lower end cards, but it's nice to imagine that the 9800 GTX would come out. On the other hand, I can rest more soundly knowing that my 8800 GTX is still going to be the fastest card around (I like to consider the Ultra merely a faster GTX).

Vista sucks big testicles right now.
