I went over last night watching the Trailer... And I realized, it sucks (if you didn't know it was my first trailer I've made). I can't seem to come up with good ideas, and when I do I can't get my ideas to work... Anyone interested in helping me out here? Not by editing it your self, but just some suggestions, and improvement ideas.

How about you have a 1x1 location with say an Observer (which you hotkey) on that location and to quickly move into cover, you tap your hotkey, right click anywhere on your screen which would move the observer out of the location and then a trigger detects that and does the move into cover location.

You could have other observers for other actions as well say changing weapons throwing grenades issuing squad commands (if you plan to implement a squad feature)

So lets just say your hotkeys are as follows
1 - Marcus Fenix
2 - Get Into Cover/Get Out of Cover
3 - Equip Primary Weapon/Equip Secondary Weapon (fuck pistol who will use that)
4 - Throw Grenade (perhaps this will create an infested terran or a scourge which explodes after a set amount of time? up to you)
5 - Squad Hold Position / Squad follow me.

So to use these you would just have to tap the hotkey and then right click anywhere on your screen, a fairly quick and easy system to use in the heat of battle. A lot easier then fiddling around with dropping things out of dropships or moving units on to beacons or building units from buildings.

EDIT: man fuck trailers, just start working on the map. trailers waste of time.

Yeah... but trailers make everyone get all hyped up about it!

On another note. The project will be delayed do to technical difficulties with family (not going through a good time right now with my best friend who just recently died. And other shit that's happening :'( R.I.P. John).

@Pinky: I dont think thats a good idea for some people... Like me, i have problems remembering what hotkey is which... and i just use one hotkey only, rarely...

Dude... can I make another GoW map? Won't be about the first or second, but i really want to make one and since it is your idea i wanted to know if you mind or not...

Lets talk about your map, i found nothing to fix it, but what will happen if a computer gets behind the player's cover, the pleyer can't get immunity anymore...

And you need to use a randomised system to make the locusts randomly try to run around the cover...

And what about a aim and shoot system since it works taht way in gears? You make a unit that you move assigned to a hotkey and then a scourge or any small flying unit appears on the hero, then the player moves it over enemies and either you hotkey a buolding and make unit to shoot or you make the player shoot sutomatically when a unit is under the target.

This would be a great system, i once thougt of it for a fun map i wanted to make but i never finished it because i had to use slow moving bullets and had to copy tuxedo templar's galactic gunnerz system wich is too hard for me to use...

BUt since all the weapons except for the boomshot and grenades are instant hit, you easily could use it. Just change the range of the scourge depending of the weapon, like making a 8/8location for shotgun, a 12/12 for hammerburst and a 14/14 for lanzor, for example...

Theese are my ideas and i might use them if you let me make that gears map... you can of course use them, thats why i just typed them.

One last thing, I am sorry for misspelled words, I am a french canadian and still got problems with some english words...

I don't mind that you make a map, because I had decided to cancel the project... I would like to give you tips on the project as well, but the reason to this is because of the things that are going on at home (family, friends, and school... Not gonna get into details). Anyways, once everything returns back to normal I'm going to continue the project, but as of now it's canceled. :-(

EDIT: I suppose I should say its "delayed" since I am going to continue it...

It's a patented product by an established company.

I am a respectful person, even if I massacre english when I type.

Havok, tell us,a re you finished with your personnal problems? I didn't do anything for the map, my dad is Anti-Geek so I got like 5 hours a week, wich isn't enough for map making...
I will still try to make one, 1 hour at a time.
