Yea, I mean it is not the kind of thing i'l use in my maps, since pirate or hideout-realted are not my kind of map, you understand?

ANyway, I am not a terrain pro, but I can still see great terrain, and this one looks realistic and good, nice job.

I like it a lot. In game, it looks dark, which is how I imagine a pirate hideout to look like.

Nice use of forms, but mediocre terrain. It felt mostly isom, and hardly any usage of blends. A couple mirrors and the bridge coastals. Oh and that back highdirt to water i suppose. Just medium i suppose.

Decent terrain, but with the polished and finished look I think it would be great ingame. Nice work.

I think you should put another kind of sprite, or just tighten the archway, because all those rock sprite looks funny.

You can use 2 rock sprites from the jungle tileset.

I like the multitude of scattered rocks, it makes it seem more real. The only thing I would suggest is to continue that within the water by having several underwater little rocks and such so that they match.

May 17 2009, 1:29 am samsizzle Post #17

yes if that was possible without using sprites.

I see a bunch of blends, so I don't know what people are talking about. They're subtle, and not in the screenshots, but there's certainly some nice floor to cliff blends happening in that map.

The arch is a great idea, but it doesn't work so well in practice. Maybe you can fix it.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless
[2024-5-06. : 5:02 am]
Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
[2024-5-06. : 5:01 am]
Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
[2024-5-06. : 12:51 am]
Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
