I do not usually rely on other people for anything in my maps, unless I simply need to request help about a certain issue that I can't figure out or if I'm being lazy about a trigger. However, if there's anybody who is very skilled at terrain and would like to do the terrain on my new map, I would be open to let some people try. I'm not so much requesting for someone to do it, rather asking if there's anybody who is bored who would like to do it.
The map is fairly big, though: 256x192.
I have the layout all set for what I want. I'm not sure how to explain the style, but I relate it to the Legend of Zelda for Super Nintendo, where the map is broken up into squares, 20x10, as you hit the right side of each mini-map, you will go to the next map to the right, same with the left, up, and so on.
Each single square will have to be modified (if you are using SCMDraft) using tileset index and setting up the edges of each individual square to look presentable, while keeping the ground space within each square as 20x10.
(I realize that may be a bit confusing, but if you are interested I can supply more information and be a little more descriptive.)
Please let me know if I left out important information that you would like to know, but like I said I will be more descriptive if you contact me out of interest.
Either reply or PM if interested, thanks.

None.
I would check out the tutorials on
my website, and maybe try doing the terrain yourself.

I can do terrain just fine. I just thought maybe I'd put it out there if someone wanted to give it a shot. If anybody out there is like me, sometimes they get the urge to do terrain for the heck of creativity. I appreciate that very much though, thanks. ^-^
And I will indeed check out the site anyway, I'm always looking to learn more about mapping.

i think thats actually a very creative idea
as long as the screens take up the entire screen in the game, other wise idk if it would have quite the same effect
u could take it a step further and have a center lock on the screen so they cant go look elsewhere on the map
i would be willing to help out a little with this, im not a master terrainer but i can make decent blends. you will have to do most of it tho, i dont exactly have a lot of time on my hands
None.
Yeah it does take up the whole screen (20x10) and I already do use center screen.
I would be looking for someone to do the whole thing. Otherwise I would rather just do it myself.
I probably will end up just doing it all myself anyway, but like I said I'm throwing it out there.

now that im thinkin about it, ur guna have a problem with ur location limit u know... if u have that many boxes, which would be well over 70, u would need a TON of locations for that
None.
Hmmm.. What is the location limit? I'll be able to calculate if I will in fact run out or not once I know the limit.
None.
It will take 1 location.
Constantly move one location to the hero/main character, and center your view on that location.
None.
Excellent suggestion sir, thank you.
Anyway, back to the topic, who would be interested?
(It will require more than one location, but that idea will still save me locations)

That wouldn't work, because you would be looking off the "edge" of the current map. You could place a burrowed zergling in the center of each section and center a location on it, then center view. By the way, I think that the full screen is 20x12.
None.
You may be correct. I edited it so that the stupid starcraft interface at the bottom doesn't interfere.
What I came up with was 20x10.
None.
Yeah, but then you have to remember to move the burrowed zergling down (it will be in the center of a 20x12 area, NOT a 20x10area)

Nice header Falk, looks familiar

How do you mean? My location will be centered to fit the 20x10, not 20x12.... o.o

I think he means you have to move the location 2 squares down because of the command bar at the bottom?

Center of screen != center of viewable area

Oh I see now. I will be using a different location for center screen, I realize that issue.
