I'd play (if I had enough minerals), except I don't know the rules for texas hold'em. *epic facepalm* How do you play?
First of all: thanks for spending your minerals for siggy
If I had enough I would sponsor you, bu I haven't, sorry... maybe I got 50 later...
The rules... Ok I'll explain:
First of all there is a Dealer. The dealer deals out the (2) Hand cards for each player [noone can see any handcards, except your own handcards]
The player next to the dealer posts a small blind, and the player after the one who posted the small blind has to post the big blind (the double of the small blind, for example: smallblind=4; bigblind=8)
The blinds are always paid! You can NOT fold your cards before posting any blind.
In this example Player 1 was Dealer, Player 2 posted small blind and Player 3 posted big blind. You are Player 4
You've got 3 actions right now (it's your turn) You can Fold your cards, call or raise/bet
Fold means that you fold you cards (o rly?) and you are out for this round. Good thing: You don't have to pay anymore
Call means, that you pay that amount like the amount of the current bet is [big blind was 8, so call means you pay 8]
Raiser/bet means that you ++ the current bet. At least the double of the current amount [8 x 2 = 16, you can bet 16 or more]
Each player starts with 150 minerals (money)
One "bet-round" ends when each player has payed the current bet amount [in this example 16]
So... in this example Player 1 wanted to "re-raise" he made out of the 16; 32! So the current amount is 32. Player 2, which posted the small blind, folds the card (in this example); the reason could be, that his hand cards are totally crap.
Player 3 goes with, also like you. Player1, Player 3 and Player 4 [you] are in. Now, where all players have payd the amount of the current bet the money gets in the "pot". The pot is the amount the winner will win if he wins the round.
After the first bet round the "flop" comes. The "flop" are 3 community cards which can be viewed by everyone. Now, after the flop is there, another bet round starts. In this example everyone "checked"
Checking is always allowed unless someone has bet something. To "check" a complete round all players, which are still in, have to check.
Now, after that bet-round the river comes. The river is one single new community card, which also can be viewed by everyone.
And again, a new bet-round starts. In this example Player 1 checked, but Player 3 has bet 20 minerals. You decicded to raise. 20 x 2 = 40. Player 1 folds because he may is a lamer. Now only Player 3 and Player 4 [you] are left.
Now the last community-card, the turn, will be displayed. The final bet-round start. Player 3 has bet 10, you raised to 20, and he decided to "re-raise" so: 40. Player 3 has called so both payed 40 in that bet-round.
Now the cards of the player which are still inside the current round shows their card.
There are 2 Handcards per Player and 5 Community cards. Your highest combination can be made with maximal 5 cards. for example you used your two handcards and three of the community cards. [anyway, in that map the computer generates your best card automatly]
In this example Player 3 has a Heart-Jack and a Piek-Queen.
Player 4 [your] has an Heart-Ace and a Piek-Ace
[there are 4 different colors, ingame they are yellow, green red and blue]
the community cards are 2 Aces, one 10, one 7 and a queen.
Player 3 has "one pair" because he has got 2 queens (his queen + the one from the middle)
Player 4 [your] has "four of a kind" because of your 2 Aces onhand, and the 2 aces form the community cards.
You won the pot. Now a new Round would start.
The adicity of the cards are this (beginning with the badest): 7 8 9 10 jack queen king ace
Here are the possible cards (beginning with the badest):
Highest Card: No, its not the "highest" card, it's just the best single card. [for example "ace high" is the best "high-card"]
One Pair: 2 same cards, like 2 Queens in our example
Two pairs: 2 x 2 same cards, for example 2 Jacks and 2 sevens
Three of a kind: 3 same cards (3 jacks for example)
Straight: 5 cards in the right direction like 7 8 9 10 jack is a straight, or 9 10 jack queen king is also a straight
Flush: 5 cards in the same color.
Full House: One pair + three of a kind; for example 2 queens and 3 kings
Four of a kind: 4 same cards.
Straight flush: a normal straight in the same color.
Royal Striaght Flush: the highest 5 cards as a striaght in the same color; 10 jack queen king ace all in red = Royal Straight Flush. Small hint: never try to bluff with it
hope that helps, and I hope I explained well
