Pigy by far has used the least sprites

Cough... Um, I used like 100 floor traps :P But I didnt have too i was just lazy. I could accheive the majority of the same picture but it would have been more complicated. :P

Learn to use P12 Units Noobzorz.

Main Reason: When the building is in FoW, the sprites are removed.

alright, i dont think too many people are going to vote, mneox almost has half the votes, the rest are an even split. Ill wait untill tomorrow to crown the winner.

On the subject of sprites, they are very important to terraining. They can add or take away alot and if used in excess they can be terrable. I see this forum as using what ever resources in SC to make the coolest looking terrain possible, I do agree that an all sprite piece of "terrain" is pretty bad, the fun of terraining is finding original blends with solely tiles and maybe a sprite here and there.

Good competition... hope the next topic is a good one.

I can't begin to understand why extending terrain is the automatic solution to making a terrain look better. Tell me, what could I do in such a little area that uses extended terrain that does not include a blocky, new doodad?

I'd also like to see an "amazing Isometric piece."

Rather than using sprites for those wall parts, you could have easily used a small extended wall instead, like the one below:

This is a terrain forum for a reason, and while you can make a pretty picture with sprites, it doesn't fulfill the requirements of a terraining contest.

I know you hate how people have such a problem with sprites, but when there are workarounds, that look better than simply using a sprite, I see no reason not to use them.

I just tried it with your suggestion. It doesn't give the "gate" feel I was going for. Admittedly, it could look better (at least more professional), but I was going for a certain theme that just couldn't compensate for such a workaround.

I thought I've argues this already. Terrain includes, but is not limited to, terrain only. Doodads, sprites, and even units are considered terrain when used properly. Thus "terraining" includes terrain, doodads, sprites, etc.

I'd still like to see what you consider to be an "amazing Isometric piece." I'm sort of at a loss when it comes to finding this.

You guys know the only reason I submitted that crap was to stimulate other people into competeing, if they didn't I would have taken the minerals for nothing.

lol I was thinking of making some crappy trailer and you had to design the terrain for like 3 specific scenes in it. That's too much work for me so I'll just think of something right now.
