I am so clever, telling Kevin to target doctor and targeting other doctor myself. NudeRaider was practically invincible with only 2 mafias alive, because of doctors.

He was never protected by a doctor throughout the game.

I vote Echo

I don't think this game is over yet. You'll see why.
Greo you should not have ended the game just yet. And not revealed the roles.
Lets play it to the end. Speedily.

Damn you Echo, played a nice trick on me. :flamer: I really bought that you did that on accident.
My list was soooo close to be completely right, but I decided to kill the wrong Mafia of my list. I blame Greo's clues. :P
Btw. who the hell were the doctors protecting that night?! Why not each other?
Wow and that Village idiot's deathwish also cost us the game - well maybe. Gahhhh if we just lynched lil-Inferno, then I would have killed a Mafia that night - l)ark_ssj9kevin.

Hailfire isn't dead. When he votes the same as I do we will lynch a Mafia, since I voted first.
And then - well, you'll see. ;)

Well Greo made a mistake in ending it. And I'm not ready to accept it just yet.

Nov 26 2008, 8:17 pm Greo Post #348

I didn't make any mistakes:
Echo got the first vote, and you could only tie with his decision. You, as Deerwhale, would be dead.
Then, it would be 2 mafia VS 1 townsperson.

Your abilities as Deerwhale do not make you immune to a lynch. Dunno where you got THAT idea.

I did not think I am invincible to lynch.
I did not recognize Echo's assessment of the events to come as a valid vote. But if you count it as such then so be it.

So basically the game has been decided by whom got to vote first.
Alright then. Lame game, epic ending.

Nov 26 2008, 9:55 pm Echo Post #352

We had to get 2 hits on you at once to kill you. If you had doctor to heal you ever night, you would be invincible because we had only 2 mafias alive. :P

Greo, when are you going to reveal the clues?

Nov 28 2008, 4:13 am Greo Post #356

Some things that I should have done;
1. Made the clues slightly more obvious. Having a few keywords does not a clue make.
2. Not make a ridiculously easy number clue. Then again, was not expecting someone (NudeRaider) to solve it.
3. Look for 'obvious' potential red herrings and remove them.

Quote from Day 1
A long time ago, there was once a powerful god known as the Deerwhale. Legend has it that once every year, the Deerwhale attempts to take control of a man to use as a transport vessel. Within days time, the man realizes his fate, and as an avatar of this immortal god of death, uses his power to 'cleanse' mankind, or save it. The Deerwhale knows all too well that it is only a matter of time before the next person is marked, and he has chosen his target. Oh woe to the man who dares tempt fate with the powers of those beyond mortality.

---

Greo sat around in his newly built office, researching about this god of death. Something isn't right, he thought, as he sorted through all of his gathered information. The Mafia were seeking this great power, and he knew he had to do something about it. He stood up from his desk, and after looking through a nearby file cabinet, flung a folder with many pictures on the table, and watched about 17 different pictures spill out. "1, 2, 3, 4... no leads to anyone. Damn," Greo said to himself, jotting down some notes on a notepad, and researching through everyone's trivial information. "I just don't believe this[1]," he said, and brushed his hair with both hands, staring at the pictures for a long time.

Time, however, was not on his side.

The Mafia were fully aware of how close Greo was to the truth. The four burst through the office, and Greo laughed, pressing down a button under his desk. The Mafia attempted to pull out tommy guns, but as soon as they did, they fell to the floor. "You are NOT PREPARED," Greo shouted out, having modified[2] the situation to his favor. With a gun resistant to magnetization[A], Greo fired once, putting down Devilesk with a single shot, and pulled the trigger again... with no avail. He cursed, remembering that he left his ammo at home and not the office, as the rest of the angered mafia grabbed Greo, throwing him out the five story building and onto the pavement below.

"A general covert operative[3], that Greo," one of the townspeople said. "He knew all that we may now need to know, but it'd probably be best to work against both this 'god of death' and the Mafia as well." The same townsperson led the others to start a private meeting, all 17 of those within Greo's strange folder. It was time to lynch.

** DAY ONE START **
Townies and other roles, you have 24 hours to vote on someone to lynch / use powers.
If you have not gotten a role PM, clear out some space and I'll send it to you again.

[1]NerdyTerdy's title is rather athestic.
[2]Kevin likes to play mods of starcraft.
[A]Indirectly, Echo's headphones have magnets in them.
[3]Hmm, Echo seems to have a connection with Duke (General) and Kerrigan (Covert operative). He did start a thread about how Kerrigan has sex with Duke appears in a google search with staredit.net.
I'm surprised that no-one got this one, especially how out of place it was. Then again, someone shot it down saying that is was a 'made up role'.

Quote from Greo
Oyen was busy searching for someone, and together the two would be able to have enough power to face the Mafia. He sent letters to two potential teammates, and told them to meet at the corner of an intersection. Too bad he was met by not a townsperson, but a Mafia ready to jack him up[1]. Oyen ran as fast as he could, but the Mafia hit him with a tazer, knocking him out cold. With a blade of energy, the Mafia jacked Oyen's shit up, and stole his pack of candied skulls[2]. With that, the Mafia left to go somewhere else.

TassadarZeratul was busy working on locking up his new prisoner for the night. "You'll be safe here, trust me", he says, as he locks the man up. Suddenly, two of the mafia burst through the prison's doors, and out of the blue[3], the two riddle TassadarZeratul with hundreds apon thousands of rounds. The two Mafia step on his corpse, and fire at the prison cell. Luckily, TassadarZeratul's prison is rather incredibly strong, and cannot be broken. Unable to continue, the Mafia head home for the night, but decide to etch "Nooblet" on his forehead.

The ghost of Greo came back to the townies, and explained things. "You dumb doctors didn't even bother protecting tonight!" he rambled, "and on top of that, you got some guy who didn't even have anything to do with the Mafia! I hope you're happy." With that, he etched a number onto the ground where he once stood: 164025[4]. You think the number might be of some importance. And from somewhere out there, you feel the earth rumble beneath your feet. A very bad omen, as this town has never had an earthquake in a thousand years. Somehow, you don't think the worse has yet to come.

** DAY 2 START **
Townies, 24 hours to vote.

[1]I played along with the headphones idea. Headphones usually have a jack to plug in, and Echo happens to have headphones.
[2]Candied skulls? Skullcandy?
[3]NerdyTerdy loves the color blue.
[4]Well what do you know? The square root of NerdyTerdy's usernumber.
-There are no clues against Kevin this round, since he failed to shoot the prisoner.
Quote from Greo
@Everyone: Sorry guys, unexpected funerals ftl.
@Echo: It's not considered spam, since it deals with the game.

It was night once more. Paravin was busy investigating strange, deer-like prints made into the streets... too large to be human. As he prepared his tools for further analysis, a man of the Mafia sneaks right behind him, and with a brick, shatters Paravin's skull like a watermelon. The Mafia had wedged a lead pipe and glued a nail to the brick to make it handle more like a hammer, but makeshift weapons[1] were not essentially good for long-term use, and so he dropped it at the scene of the crime, heading back into the night.

Shocko was prepared for the worst. With one of his handguns fully loaded, he prepared for the Mafia to come and attack. He heard footsteps... large footsteps... was it a cyberdemon? No, it couldn't be. Shocko got ROCKED as the Deerwhale came crashing in, smashing through the home and deliberately ripping apart his corpse with massive steel-rending fangs. The Deerwhale stepped from out of the newly triggered rubble, and turned to face a Mafian, who prepared to let loose with a barrage of Molotovs and machine gun fire. Sadly, the Deerwhale's thick skin practically make the attacks feel like a nice massage. Unsatisfied by the attempt, the Deerwhale charged through the streets, and left the town hanging for the night.[2]

At day, the townies were left speechless. Was this deerwhale on their side? That was for them to find out, and fast. Assuming that this god of death has werewolf like properties, the townspeople prepare another course of lynch. The ghost of Greo apparantly left a message at the feet of one of the townies: "Don't be afraid to look into the past for clues!"

** DAY 3 START **

Townies, 48 hours.
[1]Clue against Kevin, who, once again, likes to participate in Mod Night (and has started a few Mod Night posts, as well!)
[2]The Deerwhale just raided Shocko's house. NudeRaider, perhaps?
-Echo attacked the Deerwhale and failed this round. No clue for him!

Quote from Greo
Phobos had lucked out once again. Somehow, he survived the brawl, even when the odds were against him. He sat on the streets, holding a cold magnum in one hand, waiting for fate to arrive[1]. The earth began to shake, and so it came to pass[1], as the Deerwhale came crashing through the streets. Phobos fired his weapon, but the attacks were nothing to this demented god of death, and with a good gnashing, Phobos lost the upper half of his body. From out of an alleyway, a Mafian fired two tommy guns at once at the beast, but the bullets just seemed to bounce off. They would need to coordinate their attacks to kill the beast. The Deerwhale stomped through the city, and back to whence it came.

Hug A Zergling went after the source of the trail of damage within the city. With his zergatling gun, he went past torn up cars, destroyed roads, and still couldn't find out where the trail ended. He stopped to catch a breather, but as he looked up, a Mafian from inside a building shot once, killing Hug A Zergling with a sniper rifle round[2]. In the night, the only word that was heard was "BOOM, HEADSHOT!".

Having to lose another, although useless, person with a role, the townies were angry. Or maybe just apathetic like usual. They decided that maybe they should vote another person down for a lynch.

** DAY 4 START **
Townies, 48 hours.
[1]NudeRaider's title about destinies helps here.

Yeah some clues were a bit hard - at least for speed Mafia, and seeing that none of the power players are participating - but I think generally they were good. We could have easily won this game, if not for the numerous unfortunate events in the end. Almost half of the town helped to make Mafia win - lol.

Well that number clue was an interesting one. Admittedly it doesn't seem to have a connection to anybody, so your expectation was right to some extend. But once someone looks really hard into it and actually finds it he knows it can ONLY be interpreted this way. Well anyone with some deeper degree of maths understanding. I tried to explain this. It's just a coincidence too big to happen accidently. You could try to combine several MIDs or other figures, like sign-up positition etc. into a number clue, like Moose did in Mindfuck. Because then the possibilities are much greater and even once you found a possible match you cannot be sure it's the right one.

3. Yeah damn... so much against Inferno :(

[2] Didn't know that :/ But now that you mention it, I remember a sig of someone (maybe him?) saying fuckyouitsmodnight/nvmitsmapnight - oh well again :D
[A] GAAAAHHHH - I got this one! But I let TassadarZeratul finally convince me it wouldn't be common knowledge - obviously MORE COMMON THAN YOU GUYS ADMITTED! :flamer: :P
[3] Wow would have never made that connection - maybe if I had read his topic, but then again, probably not. I thought some time about it but didn't come up with something.
To summarize, if we had payed more attention about which interpretations had been neglected by Nerdy (Headphones, covert operative) we could have had our three Mafias down at end of Day 4 (Day 2 Nerdy lynch sponsored by Greo, then go back and check).............
