Hello there. I have recently started on a map (started during Christmas Break) that is going to be a combination of an AOS and a RPG.
I came here to get people's opinions on what direction terrain flow that they like the most. I would very much appreciate any feedback on it.
(Note: The shape in the picture is pretty basic, but I already have started # 1 and 3 of the directional choices, so if you want to see a screenshot of either one just ask me)
KeyBlack = Oil/Water (I'm doing this on the desert template)
Dark Gray = Terrain (the boxes in the top are for trigger spells/misc. things)
Light Gray = Starting points for the 2 teams
None.
i would have to say 1 it looks the most natural.
None.
I like #3. It's a mostly arbitrary decision, though.

#1 or #4. It's best if terrain goes on a diagonal. Vertical or horizontal isometric terrain doesn't look too nice. It's just the way isometric terrain is

What Yoshi said. I prefer from-left-to-right layouts though, so I voted #1.
I personally like #4 because of the way it just flows..? Dunno. Something about it

Motion to the left or right feels better than up or down because the latter suggests you having to follow your unit(s) with the screen more (moving the screen more).

That's it! I knew something was off
. Thanks.

Thanks for the input =). Luckily I liked choice #1 too, so i've put the most work into that map.
