1v1 maps are so easy to make, so I thought "Why not try a 4 player map?"
And here is the result:

I give HIGH credit to Excalibur for the dirt-ruins. Much appreciated :)

EDIT: Crud, I forgot to hit "Randomize Minerals" in SCMDraft. Just ignore how the minerals are all the same type for now.

@Excal:
Ignore that there is barely a concept right now. I just wanted to see how well I could balance a 4 player map

zomg this is like nothing ive ever seen b4! Looks suprisingly balanced despite the awkward terrain formations. Looks kinda like the map is divided into a giant grid as each expo is nearly a perfect square(Which is where u got the name "territories" from isnt it. Im 100% sure there are several tank holes that can tank the main bases(hills between allied mains). There is some blandness in the corners of the map. A good map considering its your first 4p;)

ps. i have a suggestion, y not try something creative with the middle terrain that will catch someones attention? u know like how python has a python? Maybe turn those 2 circles into a pair of sunglasses/eyes or picture of pacman and ms. pacman facing each other? idk but i think something creative in the middle makes a map more epic. GJ :wtfage:

No, they are definitely a problem.

No.

Stop giving people bad advice.
-Some maps are played because they're good.
-Some maps are played just because a Korean made them.
Guess which Python is.

Stallion you have violated both a section rule and a SEN rule:
Quote from READ THE STICKIES
1. Do I know what I am talking about?
-If you have no idea how to make a balanced melee yourself, you really don't have much business trying to tell someone else how to do it. Rather than give bad advice that will only hurt, it's better to be silent and let someone else do the job. If you aren't sure, say so, not everyone's an expert, but if you aren't, do not claim to be.

SEN also has a rule about proper spelling and grammar. 'u' and other chatspeak variants are frowned upon. Keep your second grade spelling out of my section.

I shouldn't have to remind you: I know where you sleep.

The map is terribad from start to finish. Too many sprites, akward too small tankable mains, too short air to air distance and the entire map reeks of a bad concept. If this map was a dream it'd be the nightmare you have because you went to bed after eating six microwave burritos. Lots of wasted space in the top area, the sprited side ramps are a terrible idea, all the paths are too tight and just about everything is tankable.

Suggestions:
Scrap map.
Do not use X, Y, and XY symmetry.
Scrap map.
Do not over use sprites.
Scrap map.
Watch your tank and air to air distance.
Scrap map.
Use XY rotational symmetry for 4 player maps.
Scrap map.

Done.

Hey. Hey. Hey, Excalibur, hey. Hey. Guess what?

You're an asshole!

Follow his advice to the letter anyways.

I consider it an equal trade really:
I have to help them improve their first attempts at mapping, which are always brain damaging to look at, and they have to deal with my witty comments. :)

It was my first 4 player map, pronogo. Of course there will be a trillion things wrong with it.

Besides, thats what makes Excalibur funny. Bashing other people's maps :bleh:

Well besides the fact that even your 2P maps aren't that good, saying that they're really easy isn't going to be a really good motto.

Python is a little bit of both.

This map looks a bit similar to Gaia, and the entrance sorta like Colosseum. The rush distance can vary from very long to very short- which means some strategies will depend hugely on luck. I see many places that are tankable on maps.

Also, it doesn't make people funny that he's an ass. I can't help but say he is an ass, here- but thats out of the point. The point is, he is contributing with his knowledge. If he sees it wrong, then he's got to say it's wrong. This isn't somewhere where you get yourself covered in lip services.
