Ok so im wondering if anyone knows how to make an effect for pillars shooting towards the opponent(Using lurkers for Spikes*Quite obvious*)
Also, I have a problem with air gridding, if an opponents air unit is there then there are issues in the grid
Are there more then one way to grid other then with air units?
Any help is appreciated
None.
You could also do a static grid with pre-placed burrowed units.
Also, (it's a lot of work), but if you have few air units, you can work out a system to temporarily remove them while grids are establish, and then replace them after the spell is set up.

Your best bet would be to just use normal gridding Ura, a static grid would NOT be worth it, at all. About removing//replacing units, you are going to have problems with units being "healed" when they are replaced, what you could do instead is move obtrusive air units to a secluded area, then move them back when the gridding is done.

Switch X = Spell at uses grid is in effect for player 1.
Location 1 = Location that includes maximum grid range that is always on player 1's spell using unit.
Battlefield = location that covers all possible fighting area.
Grid1 = Grid location.
T.
Player 1 brings at least 1 spell unit to battlefield: Center location 1 on Unit owned by player 1.
Now, let's say that player 1 uses his spell:
T.
Spell is cast. Set Switch X.
T.
C: Switch X is set.
A: Move 1 spell unit for player 1 from location 1 to holding area.
Create 9 zerg devourers at location 1.
*Set up spell as needed according to grid*
*Devourers are all removed.*
Clear switch X
T.
C: Switch X, Y, Z etc is cleared
A: move all units for player 1 at holding area to location 1
move all units for player 2 at holding area to location 2
move all.....
And then your spell effects are ready to take effect on the next trigger cycle.

dying HTs. They kind of disappear then float up.
To do a static grid, you just have to preplace burrowed units everywhere, then use logic to know where you are. Switch between giving the burrowed units between player 9-11 or whatever.
Norm was talking about removing the air units from the equation when using a mobile grid. You center a location on the air unit, move the air unit to a safe location off the arena area, then create the grid. Once the grid is found, you move the air units back to their locations. This make air units stop flying, which is annoying.
Your best bet would be to not use air units.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
What units are effective other then air units?
I know zerglings work but they are rather small and hard to use
None.
zerglings are as large or as small as you want.
http://www.staredit.net/wiki/Grid_Systemsthe wiki has everything we currently know about grid sytems.
ground based mobile grids just don't work, for obvious reasons. Any sort of burrowed unit in a static grid works fine. The burrowed unit is just a pointholder for a location to be centered on them.

isn't there some example grid map with a location system out there? i think it was made by bolt head?? i've never used a grid but it might be interesting to play with

Wait, how do i implant the location grids into my map?
