I really want to code a computer game, and feel that I have the skills needed. (I have written several simpler programs already, some of which are pretty complex.) However, I am currently stuck for ideas. Does anyone have any ideas for what I should write?

As weird as it sounds but a TCG Card Game would be pretty awesome OR A 'tactics' game. Where you move units around a 'map' a certain amount of blocks on the field and attack using turns and stuff. Make it like Final Fantasy: Tactics. NOW GO MY CHILD.

What if I combine those ideas? You have a deck full of cards, each card representing a unit. When you play a card, you get the unit.

Well combining is great don't the Tactic style shouldn't be used EXACTLY, at least if your gonna combine them (imo).

I remember a long time ago their was this game for gamecube that you played as a girl who had a deck of cards and you would have to use the deck to summon monster or 'borrow' the monsters (in the cards) powers/abilities. The whole deck would have to last you the entire level. For example you start the level and you have 'draw' 4 cards. Each of the drawn cards was giving a designation with the buttons on the gamecube controller (A-card1, x-card2,etc) So lets say i pressed A I would throw out this wolf card and it basicly summoned him and he would fight for you ( the main character did not fight AT ALL. All monster summons did the fighting.). After you 'cast' the card you draw another card from your deck and it would take up the used card spot. Some cards would summon a monster for example, one card created a Giant tree monster which didn't attack. Instead it just stood their for an alloted amount of time and gave your main hero Health as long as your hero character was near it. Other cards would let you transform into the monster for example, one card would transform you into an eagle warriro with a spear and would make you instantly thrust while flying. This was used as an attack or the flying thrust was used to get to certain places you couldn't get on feet. So many more possibilities.

ANYWAYS. thats one Idea. Although I would honestly prefer a tactics game like Final Fantasy:tactics or Disgea.

BEAT EM UP. The Beat em up is pretty much dead. We need someone to revive it.

Games I have written in the past include Connect Four (simple), a 2D shooter a little like Phoenix for TI (which developed a large class framework I was working on for 2D animated applications), and network poker.
