Welcome to Hunting Season!

In this game you must use your Hunter and control as much of the Meat you can hold by the time the game ends. If you have the most, you win.
Players: 7 FFA

To shoot, Dark Swarm. Shoot animals, and sometimes they will drop some Meat. Get this meat by just going next to it, picking it up. Beware, if you have to carry 12 or more slabs of meat your agility will be lessened, making you a sitting duck.
You can also shoot other players and, if they carry any steal their meat. This is a great way to win in the last seconds of the game if you're stalking that fatass with the 30 meats.

Players only get 10 lives, so if you eliminate a player, that's less for you to worry about. When you are at 3 lives, for a little boost your clip will increase, allowing 2 extra shots between reloads.
Other ways to get a clip increase is to simply carry 10 or 20 meats on you at a time.

Reloading, to reload simply Burrow. This will restore your energy to the max you have. It's much better to reload than to wait for that damn slow energy to recharge.

Normal Clip - 4 Shots
Upgraded x1 Clip - 6 Shots
Upgraded x2 Clip - 8 Shots
Upgraded Final Clip - 10 Shots

You have 10 minutes to gather, shoot and steal as much carcases as you can before the timer runs out. If you have the most meat slabs by the timer end, you win.

You CAN kill yourself, this is because of Strategic reasons and Starcraft limitations. :bleh:

I'm curious in how you're detecting who is shooting the dark swarms. Aren't all dark swarms owned by like p11 or p12?

You don't need to detect it. It just centers on dark swarm and kills any animal underneath it.

Ah okay, I didn't see the part about animal dropping meat. But how are you going to steal meat from other players then?

Sounds fun but I see a problem...

There's no way to actually dodge the dark swarm once they click on you... :\
And due to the lag time between Dark Swarm + Trigger.. I'm pretty sure there'd be a lot more Stalemates... As in both defilers killing each other.

Is there a way to deposit your meat? Obviously you'd also have to figure out a way for people to protect their meat... Or maybe you should just have a safehouse that's anyone can enter.. but only the person who owns the safehouse has vision to it.

Again tho.. i don't see how one can avoid being shot :\ .. maybe if you don't have a Life limit... or If u can kinda burrow and hide have some kinda radar stuff...
I don't know I'll have to play this and see :P

OMIGOSH UNHOLY REPLIED TO ME LOOLOLOLOL

Once they click on you you may

1. Turn around and shoot them, and sometimes you will end up winning because the enemy defiler has to stop and swarm whereas you just turn around.

2. If you're ahead of them, run up to the two preplaced cliffs and get a height advantage.

For me, if I had 12+ meats I would go to a corner (mostly bottom right) and suicide. No1 really comes to the bottom right.
And hmm I might thing of adding a safehouse, but a 96x96 map would be kind of hard to fit in.. Or I can just substitute for one of the cliffs?

I think a safehouse per person would be good... and It isn't always necessary..

and suiciding is a dick move :P but I see why u limit the # of lives.

You can just expand the map to 128x128 with SCMdraft2 ... that'd give you room.

It would, but it would also make finding other players really hard.

No just do 128x128 so that you can fit the safehouses.. but kinda keep the arena the same size as now...

U can also do 96x128 or 128x96 .. whatever u want.. :\ .. but I think the Safehouse thing (it's not really safe.. it's just an area where only one player has vision.. but anyone can enter)... is a good idea.

I'll try playing with you.

Also in v2 I was thinking about making the Ultralisk and Dragoon killable.

Say, 50 shots to kill one. Is that a good idea, or is the number too high?

Good idea?
I suggest a lower number
Heres what I think:
Have it so there's max 1 ultralisk and one dragoon spawned at a time, and the game keeps track of how much life they have.
So each time the ultralisk for example is shot it takes away 1 death count (indicater of ultra's life) and when it gets to 0 death count the ultra dies, if you create a new ultra it sets back to the full death counts. Then I think you should make triggers to indicate to the players how much hits the ultra needs. So say the ultra has not been hit at all, it sets him to 100% life and his life bar will show full and green to the players, each hit will take away 1 notch of his life bar, until he dies.
And the same for the dragoon =)

Already done, except for the HP modifications =) Also, it takes 30 hits and no respawn, since game duration is only 10 minutes.

Also added some minor footstep sounds.

Had a great time playing this. Although Polka was CHEAP when I played with him! If you camp on one of the cliffs you can ALWAYS kill an enemy defiler first before they even see you.

Thats how he got me!

Theres now 2 entrances on each cliff so you can sneak up on the sniper, and also you can blindly estimate and shoot along the sides of the cliff and get lucky <3
