wth is starcraft

Time to gripe about a tourist trap that falls short of the local's expectations, and yet people from out of state always want to go there. I'm sure every place has something like this.

I've lived in Colorado my whole life. There's this restaurant called Casa Bonita in the Denver metro area. Everyone from Colorado that I know doesn't ever want to go there, but every time someone asks me about what to do in Denver, they always ask for my opinion on Casa Bonita. It is a sad excuse to charge too much for cafeteria Mexican food. Their claim to fame is a cliff 30 ft about a pool where professional cliff divers jump off of for your entertainment. However, quite a few seats are not in view of this. There's an arcade and allegedly there's fire jugglers, but I've never seen it. If people want authentic delicious Mexican Food, I suggest Los Dos Potrillos. I

Your turn.

Lol! So Casa Bonita is real. I saw it on South Park.

I lived in NYC since I was born. A lot of people go everywhere but I think the place that people who lived there never or rarely goes to but tourist aways go to is the Statue of Liberty.

Well the city I've lived in all my life, Austin Tx. I don't think there's anything we locals despise since we love our City too much but there are things many outsiders and folks from other cities and states love about us.

- Live Music. Paritcularly our two biggest music events: ACL (Austin City Limits) and SXSW (South by Southwest)
- Lake Austin, Lake Travis, and Townlake. At least many college students love doing water things here.
- 6th street. This is like, the place to be thurs, fri, and sat nights.
- Me
- Congress Avenue bat bridge. Tons of bats live under this bridge and like at dusk you can see them flying everywhere.
- And a few other things

I don't know many people who want to go to Detroit... After my latest trip downtown, I don't blame them.

Lol! Me too!

Tourists all want to go to the Grand Canyon, no one here really does, unless you're going all the way (Havasupai).

Space Needle, overrated and expensive.

I recommend the Smith Tower over that, a lot more significance. Also, there's the Seattle Aquarium (which is very, very rad) where you can play with starfish and stuff. However, if you come to Olympia, don't go downtown, full of dirty hippies which is nice sometimes. However, it is a musical epicenter for the northwest and there's this restaurant called Tugboat Annie's which is amazingly good.

Everyone wants to go to Citadel Hill, where guys dress up as old Scottsmen. Nova Scotia is basically designed for senior tourists, lighthouses and rock formations galore.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

Hollywood. I've lived in Los Angeles my whole life and Hollywood is the biggest embarrassment we've got. "Locals" will go there a lot, but by "locals" I refer more to people who moved to LA in the past few years and want to look cool and trendy, hoping to quit their job as a waiter in order to land an acting gig. It's not just a stereotype. During the day, it's filled with "Star Tour" buses and people dressed as pop culture icons/superheroes, and at night it becomes a haven for transvestite prostitution.

And to clarify, I mean Hollywood as in Hollywood Boulevard and the surrounding area to the north and south, not the fictitious movie-land that most people think of (that's Burbank, over the hill).

People always come and take dumbass buggy rides out here and buy all this "Amish" crap, yet the buggies and the people selling this stuff are very distinctively not Amish.

I mean, Amish cover their buggies if there is a married couple driving, single and unmarried are in open ones, and they drive themselves, not other people for money and pictures.

And no, Amish do not build fake electric heaters, they don't use electricity! (Though it's less of an actual ban and more of a prohibition on over-relying on technology).

Here's some other stuff you might not know about the Amish (many people identified as Amish are actually Mennonites): They are often very cruel to their animals. There is a one or two year period where young men are free from the Amish lifestyle and are allowed to run around and sort of do whatever. They are expected to tire of worldly pleasure and return to the church, otherwise they are usually shunned. They have a serious drug problem among young people. Only married men have beards. They don't grow mustaches because of the Kaiser, who wore one.
