i was trying to make this map more fun and harder, and in doing so... i edited it with scm draft i believe... the problem im having with it.. is in the editor it shows all the yellow units... then when im in the actual game... there is not a single yellow unit? what did i do wrong? or is it the editors fault?
thanks.

make sure yellow has a start location.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
And also make sure you are playing with UMS settings. It's stupid I know but sometimes people forget.

Did a line of text appear in Scmdraft (Text area, middle bottom) saying it deleted x illegally placed units or something like that? If it did then under Options, Map Load untick delete illegal units and under Units tick allow place anywhere/stack.
Did you open the map in Scmdraft again after you noticed the units were gone in game? If so, did you notice the units were gone in the editor as well or is the editor showing the map as it should be?

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch
randomized start locations have to be disabled.
NOTE: This is only if you get a nasty error message with an alarm sound at the beginning (for pre-placed units), or later (trigger-created units)
(incase what he means is that they aren't there because they are illegally created, you hounds!
)
Sometimes if you have ground units placed in water, or even stacked (units, not buildings), a nice little yellow "ERRRN" Sount will kindly let you know that you put something in the map that StarCraft simply won't load.
*IE: A Siege Tank in Siege Mode over water
Here is a simple map that I made to show the ways of creating units that Don't end up being created.
With the Devourers, its a trigger.
Siege tanks are pre-placed.
The interceptors are done with using a Move Trigger action, which doesn't give you the nasty beeping noise.
... Damnit, I can't transfer a map on here, theres No button for it.... its being overlapped by the 2003-2009 copy-right thingy, wiht Starcraft and starcraft II trademarks and whatnot. I'll see if i can do a different post.
-Edit again---
Sometimes you can "stretch" the limit of a location by placing smaller units after the bigger units are there.
If a move trigger action tries to move a unit to a place where it shouldn't or can't be placed, it Makes the unit stop all movement that it is currently doing.

There is a yellow start location...
it is in UMS...
No illegal units were used, or placed in an illegal spot, literally if u play the map in single player and use black sheep wall u can see that there isn't a SINGLE unit of yellow... and if u open the map there is so many....
no sounds were placed.. i used statistic placing... by which i placed each unit a certain length apart from each other... took a long ass time but was worth it for how it looks...
there are no randomized start locations...
i took the basic map and made it better but i don't have any idea what is making yellow units completely disappear.........?
anymore advice? i will check all for a solution... Please!....

Make sure yellow is not marked as Unused, but as a Human or Computer, and if that's not it, are you sure there are no triggers that would be doing it?

post map, you'll get an answer in 30 minutes or your pizza is free.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
Yes, post your map it sounds to me like you have a trigger in there that removes the yellow units.

yellow is marked as normal... i didnt mess with it....
no trigger removes all of yellow..

Everything is OK in singleplayer with the map you posted. Yellow units are there. There is something wrong on your side. Please, one more time make sure you're running the map as Use Map Settings. Also try saveing the map as .scx.
Some.
Btw, I Tested the Map. Yellow units were there on B.Net.
Also, I don't think youre getting the desired effect for your beacon. Make sure you have a turret or something there while its being cloaked so that way you get only the glowie part, and not the white... things around the glowie stuff....... Like the platform or whatever the hell that damn thing is.

u sure u actually tried it on bnet? cause ive tried it like 5 times and each game yellow has no units..?

Are you sure you aren't accidentally playing like an older version or something?
