Don't Feed The Snake


Description: Yes Don't Feed The Snake is the old classic pick up game you all remember. There are two snakes and five food players. The food run and survive while trying not to be eaten by the snakes. The food will win if they are alive when the timer runs out. I'm sure you can guess how the snakes win. The snakes are controlled by an observer that constantly has hydras or goons spawning and dying under it (it looks like a snake trail). The food are simply Zelots who try to run. Don't think it's just the same old map however, there are some changes.

Feature Changes: Although there are changes, the core gameplay has been for the greater part, kept in tact

1. All new terrain / looks giving new hiding places
2. New Food's WarpGate which teleports the Food to the other warpgate
3. New Fake Food spawns periodically to help the normal Food
4: New saving spot for the digesting food
5: Hydras and Goons spawn faster (giving a better snake effect)
6: Snakes hints have been regulated and perfected

Great to see an old map concept back. I haven't played Don't Feed The Snake since 2001. It's good to see some new features. I hope it doesn't make it harder for the foods :P.

Lol thanks for you support. It's still really simple (as it was before) but great fun. I was thinking of adding spells for the foods n snakes (such as random teleport) and taking away the save area and implementing a whole new way to save someone but ended up not dooing it, mostly because the map has basically no support. My main projects right now are Sc Hockey (which will be in map production forum soon) and an awsome map that i don't have a name for yet. I'd like to make dont feed snake better but i dont think anyone would notice :-_-:

Yeah, I remember I also remade it once, but never released it.
I made it so snakes got a penalty for camping in the save spot.

You should get someone to fix blocky terrains and do extended terrains for you.

Lol, i was guna fix it myself but... lazyness go the better of me. I think the game could be really good if it had spells etc in it, but then i was thinking why even try, i would just end up making a version of C & M.
I also have some more important maps that i'm working on right now... StarCraft Hockey (map production) is only one of them

I d k, maybe i should try to make it better, any 1 got suggestions if i should or not?

I'm unfamiliar with the rules, but do you have it so that the food can't pass through the hydra trail (snake?)

Yeah you should really change the terrain. There's bits of copied and pasted areas that look bad. The ramps are badly done. Take like 2-3 minutes just changing it up and adding doodads and it would look a LOT better.

Why observer? IF you are making the head an observer you might as well make the tail air units as well or once you go over unwalkable terrain it's gonna make the CCMU message.

And i suggest you make it so the food can't pass through the hydra trail. Just remember the last 5 seconds of the snake movement and make it so the food can't go through it or it will die.

See, these are all things that I was going to fix lol, but Lazyness got the best of me and I have much more important and better maps i'm working on right now. (SEE StarCraft Hockey) I never expected this to be a hit or an epic map, (if it was I would just be making another cat and mouse), but just a fun pick up map. Thanks for the suggestions though
