This is my terrain so far and I added a few things down at the bottom of the map like a grid terrain block that I discovered and some oddly colored explosions. You can change the color a little bit by adding either a blue or red small/large explosion to the units. They also have to be air and stacked.

I think some of those waterfall sprites might not show up right during the game. Other than that, looks neat. Got some interesting ideas added in there.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

most sprites will run 1 time. so after 2 seconds the effect is gone forever...
I think the haluzination death has to be made with triggers and the scout attack sprite looks nice in the editor, but it will disappear...
unfortenatly :-(
but hey, I like your Bridge on ground :D

Uh well I noticed that not everything you have there isn't your terrain... SO, your first 4 words are extremely false... Uh you could say it's your compilation tho :) The new stuff I saw look good though :) some easy fixes none the less so get on it!

Some of these are his own blends, but before I give proof, here's something you could fix:

It's just that all of your ruins bridges had bad borders, you'll find that a certain cliff piece blends well, and a bridge piece near the bottom of the bridge it darker than all the rest.

Now, here's some of the stuff I've never seen:

While I admit that most is blocky, I'm sure that I could fix it up, and yes, a lot of the sprites you used on the waterfall won't work, only the white line sprites will stay.

The sprites are just for show I probably won't even turn this map into a game map. Only probably an RPG.

And ok fine, yes I did copy/paste some of stuff of other people's but some of them weren't walkable so I made them walkable so some of them kinda are.

You need to work on blending bridge tiles and ruins a little more.

Most of this is okay, but not really original. This is a criticism that applies to a lot of terrainers, myself sometimes as well: I really think you should try to make areas instead of big blending complexes. I'd rather see a town or a forest than a big double backwards square cliff with a triple backwards ramp. Unless you're showing off an original concept, like blending two terrain types that have never been blended before, or a new way to stack cliffs, it's not the most exciting thing to post.

Still, for a beginning terrainer, you're doing some fairly advanced stuff and doing okay at it. You've got some original ideas in there as well. For some reason I like the "lowered" temple piece a lot.

I think you'd do better to incorporate other people's blends without changing them (mine are freakin' walkable!). There's no copyright laws on terrain, and a lot of these maps are unprotected. I'd be more than happy to provide maps and brushes to anyone who asks. Remember that preexisting blends are there for a reason: SO YOU CAN USE THEM. We don't need a million variants of the same ramp if it's been done fine already (though alittle variation isn't bad).[/curmudgeonly terrainer rant]

Anyways, here's a map with some examples of ruins/bridge building.

Wilhelm's right, you can't steal something blizzard gave everyone in the first place right? Though it is nice to recieve credit where credit is due, it isn't necessary. Keep it really and keep it coming :D

Yeah, I think the main problem he was having with his bridge blends are that he used the light section on the tops, and he attempted to use the bridge piece rather than the cliff piece on the bottom sections, I posted that, but you made a map with it, so I sure hope he managed to get that blend down, because without those tiles the bridge to ruins looks awful.

Those examples really helped!

And most of those blends were mine.

And also I used to terrain a while back but I just got back into it and this is my best so far. Also SC crashes whenever I try to play the map, see if this happens to you. And I fixed the ruin/bridge edges.

:O this taught me one important thing: not every single line in every single blend has to connect with every single tile next to it for the blend to look good. i just started terraining like 3 days ago, and i am learning :P oh, and can a "brushes/terraining maps" list of downloads be posted somewhere? i would like that a lot :D

Here's some.

You want to have move of them blend to the one to the side of them, depending on what you are blending, not doing so creates very blocky and ugly terrain.
