or is it something that the poor people belong to...?

The shocked one is right, Correct english usage is absoultly required in a english speaking forum for riddles, else we cant decipher them correctly.

I just think the gramma makes no sense because the answer is wierd... the answer is "nothing"

We'll start easy. Many of you may have seen this before:


There are four people who want to cross a bridge; they all begin on the same side. It is night, and they have one flashlight. A maximum of two people can cross the bridge at one time. Any party that crosses, either one or two people, must have the flashlight with them. The flashlight must be walked back and forth; it cannot be thrown, for example.

Each person walks at a different speed:
- Person 1: takes 1 minute to cross the bridge
- Person 2: takes 2 minute to cross the bridge
- Person 3: takes 5 minute to cross the bridge
- Person 4: takes 10 minute to cross the bridge

A pair must walk together at the slower person's pace. For example, if Person 1 and Person 4 walk across first, 10 minutes have elapsed when they get to the other side of the bridge. If Person 1 returns the flashlight, a total of 11 minutes have passed.

What is the minimum amount of time it will take to get all four people across and prove how it's possible.

I don't really know what's such hard.... Person 1 tales the elast minutes to walk... so he always run backs to the other person.... I can't think on another way... wtf

Wrong. I'll give a clue: the time has to be under 20 minutes. It has to be the lowest possible one too.

The minimum time is 17 minutes:
1 and 2 cross with flashlight = 2 minutes
1 goes back with flashlight = 1 minute
3 and 4 cross with flashlight = 10 minutes
2 goes back with flashlight = 2 minutes
1 and 2 cross with flashlight = 2 minutes

17 minutes total.

To eliminate random guessing can we say that you can only post 3 trys at the puzzle awnser?

EDIT: oh I misunderstood the puzzle, I thought one of the two people that cross HAD to go back, you couldnt use somone who was previously there.

1) Okay first 3 balls on each side. 2) If they are equal one of the other three are heavier 3) so you put 1 of the other 3 in each side, If that is equal you know its the ball you left out. If the orignal scale is unequal you take the heavier three and do step 3.

Hmmm, I assume Pigy_G got it right (because i've done that puzzle before.) If he posts a new puzzle, disregard this next puzzle.


Suppose you're given three poles and 4 rings labeled as shown:

Ring 1 (yellow) is smaller than Ring 2 (green) which is smaller than Ring 3 (blue) and Ring 4 (red) is the biggest. Your task is to transfer all four rings from pole A to pole C and they have to be stacked in the exact order as shown. You can only move one ring at a time.

Also, bigger rings cannot be stacked on top of smaller rings. So the red ring cannot be stacked on top of the blue ring, but the yellow ring can be stacked on top of any ring. You cannot place any of these rings anywhere else outside of these three poles.

How many moves will it take to bring all four rings from pole A to pole C? Prove how this is possible. (Hint: see how many moves it takes to move the top 3 rings in its stacked order to either pole B or C)

Then I move Ring 2.

No, '7' is not right. Neither is your proof
I labeled the poles as well (A,B,C) so use that when referencing poles

How can you move ring 4 when it's underneath the other 3 rings? You gotta move those somewhere else first.
