Yeah, I know I won't get a comprehensive sample of general bnet playing preferences from a strictly map making crowd, but it's a start at least.
Anyway I'm trying to figure out which of these options are the most commonly preferred on bnet. Pick whichever one you tend to like the most (ask first if you're not familiar with any of the above listed types).
None.
I prefer the Lotr style maps, but I love RPGs and minigame maps, defenses I play every once in a while, and I just HATE madnesses.

I don't like madness either. Pure spam.
LotRs grate on me though because of Starcraft's sub-moronic pathfinding AI. I prefer straight to the point Attack and Defend style stuff, lately.
I used to be huge on Defense maps though.

I did too, but they got old since they are basically the same thing.

None of them, people need to come up with something new.

Yeah I omitted a few big ones like bounds, RPGs, and several others. I'm trying to find which of those selections people prefer.
I'm gonna use it for something... awesome!

I prefer defenses sense I play and make them.Ofcourse I love Tatical Warfare maps and RPG.Now Here is a question for you Tuxlar what are you up too
.

You forgot bounds, they are important.
EDIT: Wow, that not able to view thing messed me up. I now read your post. I picked defenses because I like creative ones (random defense, fisherman's defense, etc.)
None.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
Remember that this is Tuxedo Templar.
He is going to place everything into one map which will pwn all other maps...
I omitted them on purpose, money.
None.
i acutally prefer imp scen maps personally
but out of those, attack and defend for sure. i just love the strategies you can perform in a specific setting. although most of the good ones aren't played anymore...

My top favorite... would be little single unit/small force maps like Dungeon Depths. Ones that require a bit of extra-small-scale micro and teamwork, rare as the latter feature may be. I guess this includes a couple RPG's, although most I don't care for.
After that... defense maps. Those have probably given me the most enjoyment of any of the options mentioned there.
Then come hero warfare maps ( "AoS/DotA-style (like the Dynasty Warriors games" ) , although I'd prefer if they moved just slightly more towards the style of Snipers.

Most people seem to like D maps apparently. Interesting.
None.
Not an option. I omitted some because I needed results relevant for maps involving certain elements. But I might edit the poll to add RPGs and Bounds for the heck of it. Not sure if constraining the poll is helping me or not.

maps like snowball wars are quite fun...someone needs to make a new special forces..without copying the whole dam map and naming it something else...O_o...
None of them, people need to come up with something new.
bolt head made maps that were so unique it was just crazy...i remember him showing me his test maps like haunted mansion...
None.
Attack and Defend (Helm's Deep, Heaven's Last Stand, etc.)
But I agree:
people need to come up with something new.
I've been searching for an idea for something like that for a while now...

Ask and ye shall receive.
But it seems defenses are the most popular thus far. Still, that doesn't mean much, now that I about it.
I've been trying to decide what kind of "hook" to use for my map idea, hence the reason behind this poll.
