Hey Guys, my friend and me have got a nice idea: make a race like red alert, means you have 1 main building center and all buildings gets build IN there and can be placed at a into a pylon area (every new buildings gives a new pylon area) i think this idea is great, and think that it is possible.
But does anyone know directly if it works and how?

Dungeon Master

Could someone tell me why there are two of these threads by two different people?

It's not really possible with current modding tools, unless you're willing to go to extreme measures.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

Place COP isn't really good for anything that needs to be done more than once, or close to once.

yea thats right. When you take the placecop idea is there a big problem: You first have to place the buidling anywhere before you can create a cop of it (i think) otherwise it is a good idea

You could fake it with morphing. Have your main building produce a fast cloaked flying unit (invincible with 0 sight too, maybe) that has the image of the building and a button to morph into the building. That way, you produce the "building" first, then place it second.

I tried a Red Alert type ranged building system awhile a go. I never got anywhere with it. If I can't figure out a way to do it, good luck.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless
[05:02 am]
Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
[05:01 am]
Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
[12:51 am]
Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
