I'm willing to test fairly frequently. I used to play defenses a fair amount, though I'm a bit bored of them now. Perhaps that will give me a different viewpoint than some? I'm also usually full of opinions.

I really hate Master Chief being a hero in my map. Need to change ASAP!

Lol. Giggle-a-mesh is a keeper though. So for future just make up something that sounds foreboding =P... maybe even an acronym thing or whatnot. I'd stray away from stealing from popular sci-fi, other than something SC related perhaps, though I don't see anything coming out of that.

This! =P

I don't want to go into scifi because I don't really like it. I'm trying to stay a bit historically accurate or mythical heroes. Who is Lavos? By the way, tell me what you think of the units.

Suggestions are always welcome. Feel free to suggest unit change, hero change, etc.

I was also thinking that being limited to few units would be kind of boring. Any suggestions to a different category of units or something else?

Lavos* is the creature that brings the apocalypse in Chrono Trigger, an RPG for SNES/PSX everyone should play =P. Lavos theme's pretty cool too.

But no, I'd doubt Lavos would be fitting here... it'd just be frickin sweet =P.

btw, "At the age of 17, Grant entered the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, after securing a nomination through his U.S. Congressman, Thomas L. Hamer. Hamer erroneously nominated him as "Ulysses S. Grant of Ohio,"[6] knowing Grant's mother's maiden name was Simpson and forgetting that Grant was referred to in his youth as "H. Ulysses Grant" or "Lyss." Grant wrote his name in the entrance register as "Ulysses Hiram Grant" (concerned that he would otherwise become known by his initials, H.U.G.), but the school administration refused to accept any name other than the nominated form. Grant adopted the form of his new name with middle initial only.[7] Because "U.S." also stands for "Uncle Sam," Grant's nickname became "Sam" among his army colleagues." -wiki

I didn't know that o O. Why didn't I learn THAT in school? sheesh. > > more interesting than most crap I did learn... But yeah it's Ulysses* and Gilgamesh*...

Yeah I saw Lavos, I don't think he would be fitting. I'm looking for like a hero type that has like the same ideals of Master Chief.

I myself never played solo halo... don't know much about it other than from red vs blue > >... but I'd consider some computerized system/unit for a hero... Perhaps not a typical hero in the way it works too.

I'm thinking of changing the whole apocolyptic era and the units to the Cyber Era and make the hero Megaman.Exe :D

Robocop, The Terminator, The shredder, CABLE, Cyborg!, Nick fury, Iron Man, or RADIO ACTIVE MAN!
Master chief is lame.

Well everything you listed above don't really fit the category.

Seriously, just make something up. It can't be that hard. I might give suggestions, but I know next to nothing of your map.

I think I'll leave as Master Chief until I find a replace.

What do you guys think of this.

I already looked at it. It tells a tiny bit more info, but not so much really. Only playing the map will give a real impression, unless you spell everything out. Playing is best in any case.

Yeah but you have to plan everything out so something will exist to be able to play later. I'm asking if the units seems fit or for any suggestive changes.
I was planning most of the ideas today in school. Tomorrow I should be done with the basics and it should be somewhat playable by this weekend. I'll PM you the testers when I need you.

Then I'd say give more details on how things work maybe, but eh. We'll see. As for your units, without any other info, it looks okay. Consider "modern" can still be pretty modern and be situated in the 1940s+, which might give you more ideas for a modern "hero." I'd be okay with the future being "cyber" i suppose, as long as you don't add some gimmick like EXE... Basically, I'd need to know how the heroes will be used in combat to understand what possibilities there are for themes and such for the future hero.

Gordon Freeman :)

Gordon Freeman doesn't really fit. Half life takes place around modern time.

For the future, maybe a Battlecruiser hero? I think the Enterprise from Star Trek could work there.
