Disney used to be the playful ground for kids and even some adults with pretty good fairy-tale movie classics, unfortunately, this isn't the case these days. Now that the company is running out of ideas for classics and have a lust for money that can't be sated, they are taking full advantage of using movies of the past in a most gruesome way. If you look at the numerous sequels to the classics they have produced, they don't even come close their predecessors and is a cheap rip-off so they can keep marketing the series and make more products for it. A problem for making sequels produced by Disney (with the exception of planned trilogies like Pirates of the Caribbean) is that their classics are a fairy tale happily ever after story. The ultimate enemy is defeated or the ultimate conflict is resolved and on top of that, all possible complications are eliminated making a totally Utopian ending. Now try adding a new conflict to the already happy land, its forced, and necessary. The concept of "happily ever after" is destroyed by Disney and the new problems that arise are inferior to those made with Classics.

Now even original movies are starting to go downhill. High School Musical for example. Many people may object to saying that that's a bad movie, but its a complete rip-off of the old movie "Grease". HSM isn't too bad in the young person's perspective but for anyone with matured common sense, they should know that HSM is extremely overpraised. The "Zac Efron" figure has masked many negative thoughts from girls, as they claim he is very handsome, but taking away some horrid actors and actresses, the plot is very unoriginal and is very similar to grease. One thing must be put in consideration: the first HSM wasn't half as bad as the second one. Yes again Disney has decided they should market more movies off their hit (I don't understand how its a hit :><: ) no matter how worse it gets. Now the second one is even more pathetic with the corniness amplified and and even more unusual events. One way that HSM 1 might have captivated the audience is that it portrays a really cliche message: "Follow your Dreams". The Main Character and his girlfriend indeed do just that, but okay everyone's happy right? What can go wrong? Well the second movie absolutely contradicts the first message as the main Character dumps his "follow your dream" for his girlfriend. Now that the message has been killed completely, Disney pulls off another don't-make-sense Utopian stunt, and he gets his musical activity back again. All that being said, Disney wants to kill of the survivors with a third movie. They just won't die...

Other than that they want to keep shoving classics in our face with four or more editions of each classic movie. Some ridiculous marketing lines include "First time ever on DVD", "First Tim ever on 2-disc DVD", "Limited time only" where they insert content that would keep you entertained for less than an hour on each one. They hope to constantly sell these movies, but in reality, its the same movie. The Core content is the same, nobody should care if a movie's on 2 discs rather than one. It's ridiculous of course, and in addition they seem to market the movies with a new edition every five years (Not including the first time ever on DVDs) with a "Special Anniversary Edition", I'd say make more movies.

The Conclusion: Disney has ran out of Ideas, and are taking desperate measure to cover it up.

Whaddya think guys?

They obviously ran out of ideas quite a while ago, however, due to United States law, they have to make money for the wealth of their stock holders.

I always thought the movies were ment for a certain age group and thats it, once you out grow that age the 15 y/o viewer is replaced with a 6 y/o who has never seen Grease or any movie that has those type of cliches yet. They recycle the ideas and present them to another generation. Right? seems the only possible way people can still enjoy fairy tale disney movies imo.

Yeah i have to agree with MadZombie.
Disney was never intending for educated people to look at their movies/TV from an aged perspective.
So therefore it doesn't matter how they recycle old ideas like 'Grease'. It is a shame that they are starting to give off the wrong ideas to children nowadays though.

I honestly have to say that I do not like the movie "Cars". Why the fuck are they encouraging young viewers to race the train. Now the kids want to be just like that. When they can drive they'll do just that, and get themselves killed.

Maybe most of them will be smart enough not to do that when they grow up, but sometimes having that idea in the back of your head will cause you to think that in that type of situation. Even though you have been told to NEVER TRY to beat the train.

Trains will NOT stop for anything unless they hit it, even if someone is passed out on the tracks.

The post was either overly satirical or lacked any logical structure.

They edited the original fairy tale anyways. Originally fairy tales were somewhat gruesome and had a lesson to be learned but Disney edited the story.

What is the influence a children's movie has on teens nowadays? A mere nothing compared with the R rated type. Those movies are cool and make you look mature.
The whole reason that Disney is releasing junk is because if they re-master a bunch of things to show that they still are working on it, they can still hold copy write and sue people for misusing characters ect.

They aren't releasing to make new movies, their releasing so that people can't get their old ones for free. The last thing Disney wants is the originals to become in the public domain. Haven't you heard the news on the legal battles?

Anyone who is retarded enough to think of a children's movie that they watched ten years ago as they decide to run in front of a fucking train is fucking retarded anyways and would have done something similarly stupid regardless. You make no sense Burch.

No, they most likely won't even be thinking about it, but the idea will be in the back of their head. Also when their parents are driving, and a train is coming, they will be like "Beat the train!". Sure it does sound stupid, but still Disney is encouraging kids to race trains.

other than disney, all kids shows hace somewhat of an influence.I have to admit that nick would have the most positive influence.disney channel can probably be the worst thing to let your kids watch, ive seen my neices(sorry if i spelt that wrong) talking about trying to pe popular, and if you watch disneychannel during the after noon(shows for kids and "teens")they influence the worst things possible like being rich is everything and alot more.I know the shows have a deeper meaning that is supposed to teach you a lesson but most kids dont get the lesson, and if they are not understanding the lesson/moral of the show then they are learning the wrong things from it.

What Disney is doing is earning them tons of money. Don't expect it to end any time soon. That's why they call it the film business.

A high school dance is more of a bad influence than a Disney movie.

To say this would be to say that Disney also encourages horrible irony at the expense of another. Look at Cinderalla. Her godmother gives her SILK GLOVES after she has been clearly scrubbing the floor with olden soap and water mixture. This mixture was usually made of very strong chemicals that would eat through your skin. Her hand would rip the silk gloves.

Irony? Yes. At the expense of others? Yes. Is Disney evil? Yes and no.
