About a week ago, a submitted HHP (Hungry Hungry Hippo's Beta), then i hosted HHP a few times on B.Net to find out it was glitchy. Most players thought it was a good idea but not really fun. It was more just like "Hey this sounds awesome / but i wouldn't actually play it that much." Which i was going for people becoming addicted to HHP and it being one of those really cool maps.
So now I'm breaking down HHP and I'm going to apply some really impressive ideas / work into HHP. I would love and adore you for concept ideas etc :blush:

Here are some current "Changes / ideas" on the way for HHP:

Changes
-HHP was set to infinite Game Rounds, Now set to only 10
-Removing Unlocks System, Unlocks will be converted into "Power-ups" that can be retained easier
-When a "Power-Up" is received, a "slot machine box" (kinda similar to Mario Party slot boxes) will randomize the temporary Boost for the awarded player etc
-Spawn timer for catchable units, depending on how many players join will determine how many units spawn
-Ai computer player replacement, computer players will fill in for missing players = always an equal challenge for everyone!

Ideas
-Hippo sounds
-Random Arena battles between catchable units
-Power up ideas: 1x, 2x 3x Spawn / Point Multiplier. Gravity Feeder. Some way of stealing other player Points / Catchable Units.
-Tournament Mode [Idea by [Vi3t-X]:]]

I would like it if your players weren't at the corners of the arena. Place them in the middle of each side. Or, make the arena circular and/or not so straight edged. Reason why I say this is because in your other ver, it felt as though all you need to do is just Mind control the corner/middle civilian, the other angles don't seem to rack up as many units. I think having them on the side would make it so that the units are more even distributed around you and not just concentrated in one angle.

And about the units, IMO i think it would be cool if you made the units go around in a circle or something. Because that way, I feel as though it'll emphasize more on timing and will actually utilize all 5 if your angles. I think it would be more fun and organized this way. You could perhaps make this optional or have certain rounds like this.

About the civilians, I would like it if you used different units, perhaps archons, tanks, or any big unit. Because when you are mind controlling your unit to shoot out your overlords, it may be annoying if you misclick your civilian every now and then, especially if you are trying to spam. And especially since the Dark Archon is situated so close to them; sometimes i keep clicking on myself when I try to click on the civilians next to me; I'm too fat and the civs are too skinny.

Other than that, I really liked the concept, especially for a starcraft map. Originally i wanted to do something like this a while back but I never got around doing it :P

Ok thanx alot, i agree with the rounded map idea! I will absolutely change the Rounded corners and the Civilians to something bigger like archons

Well, if you want a really great idea for an overhaul, change powerups to shanks, broken beer bottles and carboard boxes, then rename the game hungry hungry hobos.

Anyways, it looks good, and I totally see where Milleniumarmy's coming from, the rounded map idea is definitely a sure-fire thing.

Also, I'm having trouble deciding about updating the terrain on HHP. I feel that everyone wants a circular arena, which sounds nice, but I'm having trouble making it.
The really nice thing about the square arena and the players in the corners, is that every player only has 90 degrees to hunt at. With the 5 angles, its really easy to catch alot of stuff.
But, with a circular map, your looking at each players grasp range 150 -180 degrees, which is harder to catch stuff!

I really like the square terrain, it just seems to fit but i want to make it possible that everyone playing can agree that it works better than circular.
So I'd like suggestions, why you think circular is better than square arena vice versa.
And its final than almost every other round will switch back and forth between the units moving in a circular motion or a random motion
