America's Army is the official United States first-person shooter (FPS) game. The size of the game is about 2 GB. The graphics are fairly good but the gameplay is like TOO real. I was wondering if it is a popular FPS game or if any of you people play it

I think one of my family members played it a loooong time ago. I was too young to watch it back then.

I used to; then it was upgraded beyond the capabilities of my old computer, and I haven't installed it on the new one yet. It was good fun once I learned how to handle it, though; if you prefer slower, more methodological gameplay than more typical "run and gun" type shooters, it can be quite entertaining.

I play it. I just deleted it a few weeks ago for taking up too much room. I kept the 700MB .dmg though, I could probably reinstall it, and play again. I really suck at it though. I'm actually pretty good at fps. It's because of my non-gaming type of computer (2005 iBook G4). I passed all of the training except the last special ops one. Didn't have the patience to just do all of that sneaking around and hiding over and over. I just play the Bridge Crossing level, on the defensive side and hide out on the left side. Killing the offensive players at the middle building. Left side of the building, top, and the left crosswalk. In a 1vs1 situation close range, I will die 100%, because my comp lags a lot.

I've installed it about 3 times.

Installation #1: A glitch in a training mission prevented me from playing online.
Installation #2: A glitch in punkbuster prevented me from playing online.
Installation #3: It works! Unfortunately, it's boring.

Lol. Yes, it requires quite a bit of patience. In this game you can't really be pro right off the hop. :) Need to play a lot, and then you get good. There's more taking cover, and outsmarting the enemy than actually moving in and killing them. Unless your really know what you're doing. :)

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius
