desert doom rpg or twilight storm what name is better? twighlight or desert tileset?
None.
I would say Desert since there aren't much desert rpgs. Twilight seems kind of ugly.
None.
Map production is for maps already started, with stuff to show. You have to have screenshots, and if you don't even have the terrain picked, then you couldn't possibly have screens.
Twilight, btw.
None.
Twilight it you can make it elegant, otherwise desert.

This. I think it's hard to make a good desert map. Not sure why.

Psh, if it isn't elegant it shouldn't even be made.
And Desert is dull, there's a reason no one does desert.

lol, you're right. It is hard trying to make a desert map cause the terrain is kind of poo.
But i mean people would like to see change, and if someone can make a good one, then why not make it?
None.
It doesn't have to be extended, you can just do basic Isometric terrain and it should look good, then you can go back later and touch it up with some extended terrain.

What he said.
One thing you should consider is:
Does your rpg have a dark mood? If so, I think twilight seems like a better idea, since the tileset looks darker and taking place at night.

Tbh, I also think there are less deserts out there because it.. just plain looks bad.
I say Twilight.

the only time I would consider using Desert (or Ash) in an RPG would be if it were a multi-map/episode project. It'd be great for variety, but it just seems like you shouldn't limit yourself so...
On the other hand, Twilight has an interesting feel, like an ancient society. However, it has not a lot of variety, looks-wise (same with Desert and Ash). For variety, I'd go Jungle, Badlands (for roads), or Ice (you can take out the snow patches on the grass manually or whatever).
