Like a unit made specifically to counter capital ships? As I see, it opens a full new circle of strategy, since then you'd have to counter those with units that are effective against the counter and then the enemy...

I meant like a ground unit worth using. Perhaps give snubs an air attack and make them more powerful/expensive/supply using? Something like 300/300/6, and then make them extremely useful. That way you dont HAVE to mass air and you can make them earlier, giving an alternative to Ions.
