Hey guys I have a trigger system set up with a wraith so it is created moved and then removed. This happens about 4 times in quick succesion. Now what I want is the wraith to fire at any nearby enemeis each time it is created b4 being removed a little bit later. However I find the wraith gets confused and often takes much too long to target an enemy, I am wondering are there any units that have a faster firing rate then the wraith? Preferabbly an air unit or a unit that can cloak. Must b able to hit air and ground. Thx, Oh MAN

use something which can fire without must to turn (such as dragoon).

Dragoon takes forever to shoot anyway though.. You can cloak a marine using the Disable, Wait 0, Enable, Wait 0, Enable, Wait 0, Order, Wait 0 trick and then use that. A marine is definitely the best choice if you want fast targeting.

or if u still want air, u can get four shots off quick if you create 4 wraiths on a grid all at the same time... so like, a 3x3 grid with a wraith on each corner... centered on w/e unit u wanna kill

if that wouldnt really fit your map then yea, i'd say rine... its the fastest shooting unit that can be disabled without crashing (2 bad scout crashes >.<)

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

The fastest attacking unit you can create is a scarab with repeated suicide mission ai (so you need a computer player for that). The scarab won't explode and deals a lot of damage even if the damage is set to 0 (and remember the friendly fire). It can start about 200 attacks in its lifetime...
But it's no air unit.

A scarab can do that? You just have to set it on suicide mission?

It doesn't always work, and you need a computer player almost completely devoted to scarabs to do it anyway.

i like the sound of the marine thing as my hero character is a jim raynor, meaning it won't even look that different.

I am just a bit confused about waits though I have been told by several other mappers that waits are REALLY BAD for your map as the slow the entire thing down.

Anyone want to maybe shed some light on the Wait subject for me? THnks!

Here are two links which will probably cover pretty much anything about waits:

Private, their fine to use, they just cause problems if you use them at every turn.
