Simple... is there a way to change the amount of upgrades a player has through triggers...

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

Simple... No.

Maybe if you learn the AI script and figure out the conditions for the computer to upgrade.

You can't through triggers, but you can just by editing the upgrade settings in SCMDraft 2.

i mean in game...

Like using the same unit attacking on a defense map throughout the game,
but each level his stuff is upgraded...
thats what I'm trying to accomplish

That't not possible anymore. It was possible with EUDs but I don't think you can do it since they were patched.

You could have multiple computer players with different starting upgrades? player 6 = level 1, player 7 = level 2, player 8 = level 3? I'm not sure but you could also go into players 9-12 too?

or have like player 6: terran infantry level 1, terran vehicle level 2, terran air level 3, zerg ground level 4 ... protoss air level 8 etc, then player 7: terran infantry level 9 etc?

I'm stuck with one team and one unit ATM...
I wouldn't redo all my triggers to make it alternating units anyways... would kill me.

I've already got it to where it counts rounds by every time the clock resets there is an added carrier death...
Just need a way to use the deaths to change the upgrades... meh.

That is very player consuming and you can't use player 9-12. Well, you can, but many triggers do not affect them, but you CAN set upgrades for them. Unfortunately, you can't order them. In conclusion, the best way to do it would be to, as Loveless said, run an AI for the computer, and give the computer minerals to upgrade, and hopefully it will do it. If not, try a different AI. Maybe the insane ones?

I don't see AI to run upgrades...

where would I obtain this ability?

Not an AI to upgrade, but a melee-type AI, and I guess they would upgrade.

The default AI will upgrade after awhile, they mean.

And perhaps you could do HP upgrades & non-generating units. Level 1 = 10% HP, level 2 = 20% HP, etc.

sounds like an idea...

but chances are 1/10 games they would become idiots and do nothing...

knowing my luck that chance will be increased to 9/10...
then my map will find itself in my recycle bin after 4 days of work

except... the player uses the same units... and that would turn into some annoying trigger set up

Is fatasmaorgasmic a good thing?

it is... but I misused the word because I am not in a situation deserving it.

I see... Well you would have to make a map and run an AI and see of the computer upgrades. If not, try a different AI until you get one that will upgrade. I'm not sure, but I don't think Campaign AI's upgrade.

Upgrades aren't retained when you give them to another player.

Apr 24 2008, 2:31 am stickynote Post #19

Nobody said anything about giving units.

I remember computers abstaining from upgrades after no.3.
