Storyline / Introduction

The Byzantine Empire, the Greek inheritors to the Roman civilization of classical antiquity, was one of the most powerful nations on earth at the turn of the first millennium.

Despite the Great Schism Division, the eastern Greek Orthodoxy of the Byzantines united with the western Roman Catholics against the threat of Islamic expansion. With this union came the crusades and military campaigns against Islamic nations of the Near east. Little did the Byzantines know of the impending treachery of the soldiers of the 4th Crusade, when they were bribed by Venetian merchants to sack the heart of Byzantium – the capital city of Constantinople. The Byzantines would never fully recover from this betrayal.

In the opening years of the 14th century, a new power never before seen since the days of Genghis Khan would rise in the east. The heirs to Roman civilization would face a new threat - the Islamic Ottoman-Turk Empire.


This is the year 1453 of the common era, and the final days of the Byzantine Empire. This is the Siege of Constantinople.

All 'Assault and defense' maps are not exactly the same.
I could tell you im making an assault and defense map using just a topic title, we want to know what your going to do on this map. ex

-Choose from 4 main heroes to battle with
-Recruit new units from the money you earn
-try to destroy all buildings/otherplayers/etc.

Also, a game play screen shot usually means an SS of something on the map, not a picture of something related to your map.

The gameplay is similar to Trojan War, Heaven's Last Defense, and/or Helm's Deep. One side has a spawning army that uses massers to attack the defending side. The defending side must prevent the capture of their city/fortifications.

I don't have a gameplay SS yet because I'm still working on the triggers...it will all come in due time.

There we go. The gameplay could be more original, and it could be spiced up... but I guess that can't necissarily be helped. Make it unique, and people will want to play it more. For example: would you rather play an original map or a cheap knock-off that has gameplay exactly the same, but is missing alot of features from the original and isn't as fun? Like I said before, make it unique, make it pop out.

Basically, add some triggers that the others don't have. I don't know what triggers you'd add, that's your job, since it's your map.

There are only so many ways you can make an assault and defense map. SC game is almost 10 years old, and nearly every game type/trigger/map type possible has already been exhausted.

I'm just offering an alternative map to people who enjoy Heaven's Last Defense and Helm's Deep.

K, here's my preview - 3 pictures that covers nearly the entire map (except the Turkish fortifications, which isn't included in the screenshot) 192x192. ^_^

The top side of the map is East, the left side is North, the right side is South, and the bottom side is West.





Body of water to the left around P-District is the Golden Horn...and I plan to add a bridge to the golden horn soon...

Well, I haven't played SC in almost 6 months. This map was 100% completed a long while back, but due to the SC engine's limitations on the # of units ingame, the gameplay is horribly messed up. =(

I'll probably make a version of this and my Trojan War v1 & v2 for SC2 when it comes out.
