So here is the situation...
I have added a wav file to play as basically a cool battle music theme and that works no problem.
Here is the problem...
It works on the unprotected version, but when I go to protect the map the song doesn't play and the same goes for when I compress the map. I don't want to test my map unprotected, but I want the music to play. I use ProEdit btw if that is a case...so any ideas why this won't work?
None.
Yeah, stick with Uberation or OS Map for compression, they work the best.

Couldn't Uberation 3 also do the job well? I thought that whole program was made to do like everything technical that a map would need...

Well it was suppose to but, has a few bugs that never got fixed invovling strings and such.
To the person who made the topic compress the map and protect it first then add the wav =].I use to always do that.Well I will use osmap2 for compression again.

Huh? What's the point of compress/protect (which is usually the same) the map and then unprotect it again to add a wav?

No I said protect or compress first then add the wav that makes it easier.I never said unprotect >.<

I think the problem lies sorely on the type of wav... I gave you mono, the time i used Proedit... i had a boring map that i dont want to talk about {U know, my old RP (RP- Phoènix, it sucks)} and i used ProEdit... i used Stereo, and it worked fine... i never tested with mono, but i think thats the case... and i used the same converter to convert them into mono, instead of stereo

I know, but you cannot add a wav to a protected map...lol
Better advice: Skip the music. It always makes the map worse. The only time I've seen beneficial wavs was once, and that wasn't really a song anyway.
Or at least make sure the music can be turned off.

There's more than one/two protectors out there. Why don't you try each of them (I do recommend Uberation if you're looking for compression, though)?
None.
OMG LOL!
Uber@tion randomize strings, but i don't know why. Never use uber@tion. Use
ProEdit to compress things. Thats the better map protecter/map compressor for maps!

Uberation makes it where you can last I checked <.<.Also there is another way but, it takes a longer process and then it might not work with everyone using the same map and version.

Why not compress the wav files? StarCraft doesn't play good ones to begin with...

You're a moron.
Uberation has been updated a long time ago to deal with the string randomization error. Even if it does occur, use Uberation 2 to protect the map, that doesn't cause string errors.
Regarding the actual level of protection, both versions of Uberation are far superior then ProEdit. Uberation2 splits the MTXM section, which is why terrain errors sometimes occur. ProEdit actually does some pretty retarded stuff when protecting a map (such as filling all blank actions with commente referencing random strings).
As for compression, OSMAP2's compression is light years ahead of ProEdit (which also functions as protection btw).
Stop using outdated software.

I'm not a moron. wtf? I just said my opinion about uberation. In the past, I used uberation 3 and it randomized all my strings. My map screwed up. So I changed for ProEdit and I never had any problem with it.
You said that they fixed the randomize bug, but I don't even think all website have the fixed version of uberation. There's many maps screwed up like Chubs Bound, because the maker used uberation to protect/compress his map.
I made an error about saying that ProEdit is better than the ACTUAL version of uberation, but don't call me moron.

Yes, but you did provide some very crappy advice, as Proedit is about the worst compression(Apart from StarForge) that you can get for a map, other programs work much better, and just because it didn't work for you once, does not mean you have to bring someone else down by advising them use the crappier compressor.
None.
Wow
guys MA (holy shit, Falkoner reccomended something other than OSMAP), pushing agendas much?
Shook1(ConFed), try different protectors for yourself and don't let them push you around and tell you what to use. There a bunch out there, including OSMAP, uber@ation, ProEdit, and a bunch of others. Just make sure whatever you're using doesn't remove the .WAVs (see if whatever you used to protect your map has an option for it) and you should be fine.
ProEdit is the crappier map compressor/protector!? What's the best map compressor/protector? Where I can download it?
None.
OS Map 2, which I cannot link to, and Uberation 2 or 3 are the best ones, you just have to try each one out and see which one does a better job.
