Hi Yoshi, welcome back man, been awhile since I've seen you last time. Best of luck to you on Latova and continuing to make SENs' community better. ^_^

Welcome back, Yoshi!

I'm glad to see SEN is pro-protection (anti-plagiarism is what I call it), that's why I left Maplantis.

Er, maplantis was a site of open editing, freely editing maps while respecting authors who specifically do not want their maps edited.

You know, plagiarism is stealing ideas and claiming them as their own. Which is actually something mappers technically do all the time.

IMO, plagiarism isn't so much as stealing ideas... it's stealing something that would have been done differently if you would have done it yourself, taking away from the uniqueness of the creator's creativity at accomplishing the task.

Otherwise, SC = plagiarism of dune ;o

And, with sc maps, as far as triggers and methods are concerned (what open mapping wants to get out in the open, right?), there isn't so many ways to do any particular task. While it make look different externally, a grid system is a grid system, minerals per kill are minerals per kill (mostly), etc. Maps don't have to be in the open, just the knowledge of how to accomplish something that you want to do.

Now if you make a team arena map, and I make a team arena map... it will be different.
But our spawn after kill triggers are going to be more or less exactly the same. The map doesn't have to be in the open, just the spawn after kill triggers.

And if SEN is supposed to do what it's meant to do, either that knowledge will be easily accessible in the tutorials... or you should get a fast, knowledgeable reply in the forums...

I don't think anyone has a problem with anyone opening their map and looking how their triggers were done. It's everything else you can do with an open map that's the problem for most.

I'm not "contradicting" myself in any way, I just want to participate in the map making community while working on my latova project. If this is a problem for you, please tell me.

Oh yes, please do not call me Mike, only my friends call me Mike. You call me Yoshi.
Sure, yoshi the sniper.
Just fun to see half of SEN follow you up to Maplantis, claiming that SEN is at a demise, just to see you comming back here in the final, to unite the community you purposely broke in the first place.

But yeah... I am easily amused, as ever.

Yes. I purposely broke it. One day I decided that the community that was one of my finest successes was boring and decided ruin it by not killing it and giving it to someone else while I had a life (you wouldn't know anything about this "life" thing) to worry about. I couldn't hide it from you SP, you caught me.

We live in a society.

What's even more fun is seeing that Shadow_Paladin_, after years of doing whatever he was doing, rises from seemingly out of nowhere to mouth Yoshi off in a fashion that I do not care to read. Shadow Paladin, you are more than welcome to return to SEN and regain the respect you once held as one of its earliest members. This is me asking you nicely to stop what you're doing if you wish to be a part of this community, because whatever you say is more than likely not to make any difference at all (well, I might have to make a few extra mouse clicks and keystrokes involving your IP address). What's done is done, and what matters is where we are now and where we are going.

Well said moose.

It's time to end all of this bickering.

Lets say somone else like an admin or such would like to voluntier to pay the monthly fee for maplantis, then would it beable to stay? Considering that 75% of the people in maplantis will be too pissed off to even want to join SEN after destroying there map making home. Personaly I would like to state that Maplantis is much more user friendly. Also there is alot more "experienced" map makers that have taken home there since SEN went down for that long ass time it did. Pluss no one flames or missuses Maplantis, I'm gonna hate having to come back to a rust bucket of a site with bad members who don't know how to be mature enough to handle a Starcraft map making site. Please consider this option, it's not just me thinking this. I'm just the only one who took the time to say anything.

Wow, I DID try to come here peacefully..

As far as i know, I wasn't the one starting hostiliities about whoever's life is more successful (hense my joke smiley which usually means it's a joyful joke, no? Well, DTBK did get it...) But I see yoshi the sniper isn't the kind of guy who forgives a Gunbound game ;)

I forgot about that a while ago.
Did you, yoshi?

I'm open to suggestions

Please don't insult SEN. I worked hard on Maplantis and I hate it when people insult it, I can only conclude that IP feels very much the same about this. so I don't want you doing it to him. If theres certain elements of maplantis you like, make a topic in feedback outlining your suggestions and him and moose will take it under consideration.

I know not everyone from maplantis likes this decision (I don't think any of them truly do). The project put a lot of pressure upon myself for coding it as I did not get much help in this area. The donation offers are kind of you but I need a stable flow of donations in this case as they only tend to last so long. It's not a matter of me not having money (im keeping maplantis up for as long as a mods/maps/wiki db are required), its more of a matter of me not wanting to commit to that kind of time and money when the people who I founded the site with did not deliver on their commitments.

I told everyone nice and early what was going to happen, and I will give even further advance to when I want to shut it down.

Do you even recall why I stopped talking to you? It wasn't over any silly video game, I assure you.

Maybe because I was being a fucking asshole on the forums?
