I live in the US, not Canada, and if I watch TV, I have more interesting/entertaining things to watch then a debate about a black school in another country. Please tell straight up what exactly you're debating about in school.

Once again, the purpose of the black school (coming from the pros side) is for those blacks who are struggling in school (not those who are doing good but those struggling), can go there were they believe, they will improve due to an afro-centric education plus black motivation. Now we on the cons side think that's crap as 1.If your struggling in school(in particular high school) there is alot of help available for you(as seen in the jimmy story). 2.Just move to locally developed classes for god sake. There, all you do is like 5 pages of homework a month and your given cheat sheets for tests. It would be impossible to fail that unless your i.q is lower then a door. 3. Upkeep for the school would be very expensive to keep as all they would be doing is sucking money from the government while at the same time the government is paying for it. 4.If you want a black education then go to a black private school which are run much more perfectly then a school open to all blacks. 5.It sucks :D

It's not like it'll just be another school with normal teachers and the same program as the other one, but a different pool of students. They would have teachers with additional training, more practical and applicable classes, definitely a different disciplinary system, etc. You seem to be thinking that high school councilors can solve any problem. THEY CAN'T. PLEASE MOVE AWAY FROM THAT DELUSION BEFORE CONTINUING TO POST. I'm also going to make a guess that you're a mid- to upper-class caucasian who doesn't know why gangs exist. Ever heard of the concept of social mobility? It's where anyone can change social classes freely if they try. If you're born poor, you don't have to die poor. That concept is disappearing, or at least it is here in the United States. People who can't afford the costs of education stay poor, join a gang, and then force the ones that can, but just barely, to be part of their 'crew'. It's that, dropping out of high school to work at a minimum wage job to support the single mother (or father), or trying to get through school with the threat of getting shot hanging over their head. In the U.S., current tax laws are taking money from education to send it to the military and the rich, in tax cuts. If there's at least something even close to like that in Canada, a school that you described (without the biased "it sucks") would be good, because it would be another thing to use in lobbying for more money in education, even if it doesn't help the students you quickly assume it won't.

The day after the election, the primary vote was YES, they want a black school. THe only problem is, even if blacks wanted their own school, they should be denied it. Wanting to learn about you heritage is one thing. Wanting to succeed in life is another. There are multi-cultural establishments worldwide, and shitloads in the general GTA area as well. Even I go to a Viet school to learn about my heritage (moreso). Many people attend extra-curricular activities to boost their knowledge, so in conclusion, the formation of a black school is not just racist, it is intollerable. 1) If people want to be successful in the real world, they must work hard or bribe their way through life 2) If black people want their own school, tell them to screw off, make a languages school on Saturdays or Sundays to teach the kids. 3) If the top fails, and a black school is formed, then what? They change the curriclum and have lower standards to let people become hobos?
