Well, I posted this at Maplantis, I better post it here for you people who don't like Maplantis :P

Okay, it's official now, I am remaking Movie Contest, since it's the map that originally got me into map making, I decided that it deserved to be remade into a bigger and better map.

Sorry to those of you who have been looking forward to Mystic Islands RPG, I have not given up on it, I just needed something to get me started, and this map is that, so as soon as I finish this map, which I estimate to be sometime next week, then I'll focus on Mystic Islands.

Now, for those of you who don't know what Movie Contest is, it's a map where you get units, build sets with workers, then make a movie, and show it by using an observer as a camera, the other players only see what the observer sees.

Note that there isn't any NEW terrain, but it still looks good.

Time for the part you all want to see: THE TERRAIN!!!!!

Top Left:
Cliffs, just some basic cliffwork, always looks good.

It's not often you find good terrain like this in an average B.net map. ;)

No, this is pretty good, but the cliffs are quite straight edged and some of it seems a bit simplistic. If you were going for the blended isom versus the full extended its pretty good.

I've already fixed the straight edges, but I'm too lazy to change the screenshots, but I might have to if you people keep complaining :P

I think he should make the unit names blank, so the players can name each unit. It's kind of strange playing a map, trying to use a Zergling as a "dog" when the name says "Baby Dragon" :/

Yeah, but if you can take a blank name and make one, why can't you just ignore the name? I add the names to give players little ideas, sometimes the names are helpful.

yeah true blank looks kinda annoying names help alot

Ya it does, only some units that give no utter importance to any maps should get the blank names...

I give you credit for trying to make the doodads but there terrible and don't seem realistic, I mean if your ganna have a blocky doodad make it look like something. Second I'm just disappointed I thought you'd have a lot better terrain than that I didn't see anything special at all. I understand being original is difficult but if your not aiming for it just do a doodad clutter kind of terrain don't leave one space of ground unused. It looks nice and shows work. Your terrain was clean, but too simple and empty, not enough things are happening at once and this becomes boring fast. If you were going for the open clean style gj but the terrain doesn't seem quality to me right now. y/w

Zell, try making a movie on a map that is completely cluttered in doodads, I had to make it quite empty to make sure it was customizable, if you want cluttery terrain, try looking at Crescent Dyne or my other topic on Mystic Islands. This terrain is meant to be usable, and hopefully look fine at the same time.
