I'm used to WASD controls in general.
And this may sound weird, but to me it's a lot more comfortable than the standard FPS and WASD controls. Especially if "Left Shift", "Left Ctrl", and "Left Alt" are used by my thumb and pinky, it gets annoying. And I don't know anybody else who uses these controls, I made it myself. It's better using the controls right handedly and aiming, firing left handedly.
Here's the list of the right handed controls:
8 - Move Forward
4 - Strafe Left
5 - Move Backward
6 - Strafe Right
0 - Jump
Enter - Crouch
9 - Reloading
7 - Enter Vehicle, do action, etc
NumPad - Scoreboard
- - Select best Weapon
+ - Select last (previous) Weapon
Unreal TournamentRight Arrow - Translocator/Hoverboard
Crysis1 - Customize Weapons
2 - Nanosuit abilities
About the mouse, I will switch the settings and set the right click as primary fire and place it left of the keyboard.
In other FPS games, "Left Arrow", "1", "2", "3", "/", "*", "-" could be anything. But reaching my index finger to the "Page Up" and "Page Down" isn't part of my keys. And if I want to choose a specific weapon without using my left hand, I would use "Insert", "Home", "Page Up", "Delete", "End", "Page Down" and using the extra keys mentioned in the first sentence of this paragraph.
With these controls, I let my left hand freely get full access of all actions by memorizing the letters. Even though I still need to use the mouse for aiming. But most importantly, the rest can easily be accessed with my left hand if there are more keys and it's unlikely I would use the mouse at the same time for them.
Plus in Unreal Tournament, I can use numbers 1-9 above the letters for taunt animations. Although I will still use them for changing to specific weapons.
And since I'm so use to the WASD controls, I can use them for other purposes primarily.
None.
