Some people may recognise this map from ages ago [Moogle mainly]. Yes, I'm still working on it.
Anyway, the concept is this: You are among the survivors of a huge [Insert Apocalypse Here], You saw your chance, and quickly became a leader among the survivors you found, you developed a community, however, the resources around your original community were very limited. Recently a group of scouts reported some previously unlooted cities [intact, mostly]. So your community formed a convoy and headed towards these promising new lands. So did 3 other communities. Your aim is to establish a colony here, and thwart those who attempt to take the valuable resources. Bandits, Zombies, Mutants, and other survivors will all get in your way. The question is, will they stop you? GamePlay: Each Player gains money and troops every five minutes, at "PayDay" Each Player begins the fight with one Command Centre, 8 Light Infantry, a Humvee, 2 Heavy Infantry, and a Barracks. Your main goal, is to capture and defend cities. Your secondary goals, are to annihilate opposing Command Centres, and Defend your own. Using any means necessary. Capturing a city is simple. You just have to clear out any hostile units in the city. Then you must bring 4 Light Infantry to the City Centre [Nexus]. Heavy Infantry don't cut it. Their gear is too bulky to let them sneak in and assassinate the City's Leader. Upon capturing a city, you will gain certain perks, such as Tech Buildings, Heroes at payday, and extr cash per payday. You can capture an opposing players city, you can capture an allies city! [Leading to some VILE backstab tactics. Along with borrowing tech from your ally temporarily.] Each town has a unique piece of tech, and a unique hero. For a specific purpose. Jameston - Capital City Extra Cash - $1000 Hero Spawn - 2 Heavy Infantry [Hero Marine], 2 Incinerators [Hero Firebat] Tech - Factory, Assembly Line, AirStrip, Control Tower, MarketPlace, Sniper Cache, Barracks, Advanced Training Fallarbor - East City Extra Cash - $500 Hero Spawn - 1 M-109 Howitzer [Hero Tank] Tech - Factory, Assembly Line, Barracks Williamstone Park - North City Extra Cash - $500 Hero Spawn - 2 Heavy Snipers [Hero Ghost] Tech - MarketPlace, Sniper Cache, Barracks, Advanced Training Inductreal - SouthWest City Extra Cash - $500 Hero Spawn - 1 MLR-AT Experimental Tank [Dragoon] Tech - Special Vehicle Design, Factory Burnsville - SouthEast City Extra Cash - $500 Hero Spawn - AC-130 Gunship [Scout] Tech - Airstrip, Control Tower, Barracks To Be Done: Satellite SystemDONE! Zerg AI [If you can give me a hand with this, it'd be much appreciated] DONE! Bandit AI Debugging [This isn't "conventional" AI, it's trigger based. I don't need help with this.] DONE! Balance Backstory upon each city. Possible one-off heroes [There's only one of each, and you can't get them back if they die] Notes: Lifting Buildings is NOT Prohibited. It is in fact recommended if you want to survive. Each payday, 2 heavy marines will spawn from your Command Centre, so moving it to a different town will help boost the hero growth per payday. The only buildable structures are Firing Ranges[Engineering Bays], Trenches[Bunkers] and SAM Sites[Turrets]. Don't lose your tech! You can have your Command Centre captured [if it is in the bounds of a city], This is an INSTANT defeat. Yes. The person who captures the Command centre now commands 2 of them. Yes. You now have to kill both if you want to beat him. Probes can make pylons, which you may build cannons around. Cannons will change into siege tanks, as artillery emplacements. You may choose a "Commander" at the beginning of the game. This commander represents you. To be defeated, your command centre and commander must be destroyed. Zerg bases aren't easy targets. Leave them alone, go for other players instead. M-109 Howitzers shoot farther than Artillery emplacements. Use this to your advantage. Gunships are the only units which can attack Air-to-Ground, this is makes them very important. Satellite uplinks are expensive, but can provide vital intel on opponents bases, or impending assaults. MLR-AT tanks are the most individually powerful units ingame. However, large amounts of heavy infantry, coupled with high damaging units [E.G. Challenger 2s] can take them down en masse with ease. The central city gives no particularly important hero. What it does give, is a large quantity of money each payday, and multiple pieces of important tech. The Experimental unit design structure is incredibly important, it's the only place where vehicles may be upgraded. Thus, you can become the most powerful player on the map with just that city. However, the experimental unit design requires a marketplace to work to it's fullest. Unfortunately, there are only 2. Capturing both a marketplace and experimental design centre will make your vehicles walking fortresses. So without further ado... PAW[V2.1] This version has been playtested today on battle.net, and is completely functional. Please post any bugs or comments here. |

Yeah, sorry about that. I realised a minute after posting "Oh. Yeah, I forgot the map"
Don't expect much on the terrain. It's VERY basic. I don't do much terrain, let alone 256x256 worth of it. |

Sounds a lot like CBS's Jehrico if you know what I mean. And its coming back on soon! ;D
But, regardless. "Insert Apocalypse Here"? Its the T-Virus! ;D And that means... ITS ZOMBIE TIME! |

The apocalypse is irrelevant, don't they always end with zombies, mutants, and deserts?
And this is NOT based off jerihco. The concept was thought up several years ago. During PE. My friend and I were bored, we were chatting about SC, I mentioned I could make maps, and that I couldn't think of what to make. He thought about a post apocalypse war. I drew a sketch of the map, and 2 years later. WE HAVE THIS! Also, I don't even know what "Jerihco" is. |

Look it up, its an awesome show about a terrorist plot to destroy the US. Nukes have destroyed every major town, Sept New York because one of the main charactors is a CIA agent who has one of the nukes because he was in deep. The town of Jehrico was a fall back point, safe from the radiation of the blasts.

I forgot to mention, there are certain tech buildings scattered around the map [Oil wells, Refineries, and a pair of Mines]
These can be captured the same as a town. They don't give any rewards yet. But mines can be used to train excavators. Enjoy "Excavating" your opposition. I don't see many hits I want some feedback. It kinda sucks that I have more seperate repliers than downloads. Channel - Flame Void If you're interested. Less chat, more play. If anyones regularly on USWest, i'm there. I'll probably be playtesting [With newer versions!] So you can pop in and play a round or two against me. For the record, I'm not looking for playtesters, I'm just running random tests with B.netters, to see how gameplay flows, how people fight etc. So far, tacteams of light marines and snipers in dropships seem to be a popular strategy to capture a city. It's really fun to watch when someone comes back from nothing, capturing cities using micro and strategy. Especially when a tank sits in the road. |

This map looks yummy. Screenshots please? I'd like to see what I'm going to play before I download it.
Would you mind much if I added a SCMLoadable mod with the map? |

Sorry, I don't understand "SCMLoadable mod with the map?"
The map doesn't look very nice, but it's gameplay is what pulls it along. Screenshots don't tell much, but I'll grab a few. Anyway, screenshots take up about as much space as the map. It's a 2 second download. But a lifetime of fun. Oh also, would you mind changing your signature picture? |

Well, I'm saying that I want to add a mod into the map. Me and many others can modify starcraft's graphics, unit properties, behavior, etc. I can give starcraft a graphic makeover then add some extra files into the map. The result is humvees that actually look like humvees, better looking snipers, heavy infanty with moar firepower, etc. No screenies? Lazy fart . Eh jk.And I don't feel like changing my sig. |

Go nuts with a mod, that'd be sweet
I'd prefer if you can change the humvee attack into a gauss rifle attack that's only good vs small. If that's possible. Oh, remove the F-22 raptors attack altogether. And if possible, make mines not move, just explode when touched. |

Another bump.
Updated the map, I'll protect and release the new version now. Added some SWEET stuff, bandit AI is working nicely, so is the zerg's. Be careful, the zerg AI has a habit of overrunning players [I was running and screaming like a little girl in the last few minutes.] But some tweaking should have stopped that problem. Adding the map up top! You start off with vision to the zerg, this is for debugging purposes, don't worry about it, believe me, the early warning will save your ass. Also, the bandit AI won't actually come into play... The zerg tend to destroy the bandit bases really early. [Cool as hell! But unfortunately, it's not so good for gameplay...] Gah, SCMDraft screwed up the whole map... Thankfully I backed up If the download only has 1 player slot, tell me. It means I uploaded the screwed up version [I'm fairly sure it was okay before I uploaded it.] EDIT: I've done some more work, but I reckon everyones sick of me bumping this... >_> Anyway, I've added a Satellite system which enables the players to access a network of observers which are constantly junk yard dogging, this gives players intel, but not always what they need. I've also fixed up bandit defenses when the zerg attack. There's a system in place for deploying stationary Artillery. I'm thinking about adding the ability to ally yourself with the bandits, [paying a hefty bribe to do so!] But I don't think I'll add it. Oh, and I've added "Commanders" You may choose between Kerrigan or Duran, both have the same stats. The difference is purely visual [Unless they have different ranges...] I'll upload the version with said features soon. Uploaded. On a different note, I'd like to tell you all a story about my last playtest. Please note, this is a dramatization, the words are what the "gist" of the thing was, not what was actually said. That was the best playtest ever, that was the best game I've played ever. [All games, not just SC, but every game ever.] That is how PAW should be played, with diplomacy, "plot" twists, and assorted other awesomeness. Just thought I'd share. Damn, that story is worth 60 minerals... But I think it'll be easier to skip if it's not your kinda thing if it's a quote. Still sticking to not bumping. SEN, don't just read the newest post! My computer had a MAJOR MALFUNCTION! So uhh. I kinda lost the map. Coz I had to format it and stuff. Happily, when I playtest with friends, I don't protect it, so I can make additions etc quickly. Anyway, thanks to that, I have a backup copy, somewhere a far way from here. Sooo, I didn't do much work on it since the last playtest, which means I can just download it offa my friend, I'm only a tiny bit behind, and everyones happy. Unfortunately, my porn collection wasn't so lucky...
