:payne:

I asked everyone except the ex-girlfriend of my father to give me absolutely nothing.

... my father still managed to buy me stupid useless crap that made no sense (a muscular program targeting cyclists? WTF?).
My mother got me the only thing I wanted: Into The Wild's book. :)

Whenever you get something odd that makes no sense from someone who should know better, or something utilitarian from someone who knows you moderately well (like a towel, or a desk fan or something) then they probably just bought it because it was on sale cheap somewhere and thought it would work as a gift.

I like buying gifts that I know I will be able to use. Like my dad, I got him these astronomy vids that I actually wanted to watch.

Ex, you going steampunk at all with that antique stuff and the classy knife?
Steampunk? No. Just being a classy motherfucker. You should've seen my Christmas outfit because we hosted it at our house (Me, my gf, roommate) this year. Brown light jacket, purple dress shirt with black tie, new express jeans, my watch, my knife on my belt. I looked like I was going to shank someone and then have some caviar. :P
