I have a Elitegroup 7050-M v1.0a motherboard an I've used the Realtek HD audio driver it came with for years under Windows XP 64 Bit. There was a nice mixer panel, an equalizer, sound profiles that added effects, etc.. All of these menus are gone now that I've moved on to Windows 7 64 Bit. All I have is the basic settings under system control -> sound, but they are not nearly as detailed.

To clarify: Sound works, but the advanced settings I got when using older OS's are gone.

Older drivers don't seem to work under Win7 and I can't find one for Win7.

So how can I fully utilize the capabilities of my HD sound chip under Win7?

Hmm. Look in Program Files (x86) for your Realtek folder. Open "Audio" and open "OSD". Double click, and enjoy. Specifically: " C:\Program Files (x86)\Realtek\Audio\OSD ".

If you can't find what I'm talking about, uh oh, I can't help, I never upgraded to Win7, it came this way.

All I have is this: E:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\InstallShield. It contains the program and driver files for my XP installation, but as expected I can't run the control panel from within Windows 7.
Or what else was I supposed to find/do in that folder?

EDIT:
Nvm I was stupid. I didn't find the generic HD audio driver on the Realtek site because I was looking for a specific chip. The generic driver works fine and I have all the settings back. :cool2:
This can be closed now. ... oh wait

I don't know what to say then. Since I never upgraded from XP to 7, I couldn't tell you. Though, my Realtek\Audio looks like this:

And I have no idea why the XP version doesn't have an OSD folder...

sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city
